Today was supposed to be a special day. Today I'm turning 15, I'm having my quinceañera. Everyone is rushing around, getting everything ready. My mom and my Tia, are helping me get dressed. There are makeup brushes in my face, curling irons in my hair and the smell of nail polish filled the air. And when my brother came in, boy was he scared. "Vespara! What is all over your face and hair!? And ugh! What is that wretched smell!?" "Shut up beto!" He was right though. I hate all of this stuff, I would rather be wearing shorts, sweatshirts, and my slides, but not today. Today I was trying to make sure that the party is not anywhere near the fountain. But my mom put the fountain right in the middle of the whole party! She knows I don't like water but she doesn't know why. So, 5 years ago, I used to live in Southern Mexico. I was a horrible person. Between the ages 7-10, I had anger issues. Really bad issues too. I was bullied because I threw tantrums in class. When I was 10, I did the most horrible thing ever. I killed everyone who made fun of me, the I hid the bodies in the water, most of the people I slaughtered, but the rest, I drowned them. That meant everyone in the village except for my family. No word has been talked about it since, no one knows except for my family, and they know I'm passed it now, I'm perfectly free of my anger. But when I look in water, it shows my past self, covered and soaked in blood with crazy, serial killer eyes. I'm ashamed of what I did, I truly am so that's why everyone is trying to forget about it. But today, it ended up being the worst day of my life. During the party, we were dancing when someone accidently shoved me over which made me go face first in the fountain. I tried to move but I couldn't. I was frozen. I passed out, the last thing I saw was the horrible reflection coming closer the more I was getting tired and finally, I saw nothing, absolutely nothing.
