Birthday

"Y/N, Get up its time for school," you sighed as your mother called your name from down the stairs. You got up out of bed and got ready. Today was your birthday. Every year no one seams to care your just another year older. But not for Rhiannon. Rhiannon's birthday was the same day as yours. She was a lot more popular. Everyone loved her. You grabbed your backpack and ran out the door after saying your goodbyes with your mother.

On your way to school, all you thought about was how rhiannon would have everyone singing her happy birthday getting her gifts. You didn't even have any friends to give you good happy birthday.

Why do they call it a happy birthday. Its never happy for me.

That's all you thought about. Why is it a happy birthday, when im never happy.

As soon as you got to school you ran to your locker to see that a bunch of girls where in front of it. Of course, rhiannon's locker was right next to yours. You saw how everyone decorated it with balloons, streamers, home made signs with inside jokes. You sighed and opened your locker grabbed tour stuff and walked to first period. Sadly rhiannon was in it

When you walked it you saw that everyone was surrounding rhiannon. You sat down and took your stuff out. As the bell rang the announcements came on.

"Y/N Y/L/N, please report to the office," they said.

Everyone looked at you as you exited the room. When you entered the office you where greeted with a smiling boy with flaming red hair. The principal walked in.

"Hello y/n, we where wondering if you could show the new student, Josh around," he said standing next to Josh. You nodded your head and gestured Josh to walk with you.

You both walked in silence until you spoke up.

"So, where did you come from?" you ask.

"Oh..uh...just a small town in ohio," he said.

"Why did you decide to move here?" you asked stopping.

He stopped as well and looked at you "My dad he got a new job out here,"

You just nodded and kept walking.

-time skip after tour-
It was about lunch time as you finished the tour. You and josh walked into the cafeteria and grabbed your food. The two of you sat down. "Is anyone else joining us?" Josh asked. You shook your head no.

You heard a bunch of voice join together and sing happy birthday. Yours and Josh's attention gazes over to the table where all the populars sit. You turned back around and sighed.

"Is everything okay?" Josh asked sounding concerned.

You glanced up at him and looked back down shaking your head

"Today is also my birthday. My mom was the oy one to wish me a happy birthday." you said

"Oh, well happy birthday. Maybe we could do something after school for your birthday," he said putting his hand on your shoulder.

You looked up and nodded. A smile slowly started to appear across your face.
"Tell me a little bit about yourself," you stated
"Well, i play drums and I constantly dye my hair," he said smiling.

The Bell rings and the both of you exit the cafeteria standing by one another. You think to yourself.

Do i finally have a friend. Out of all the days, it was my birthday. Probably one of the best presents ever.
