A moving truck pulled into the house next door. I looked up from my book. A women stepped out of the fancy black car, high heels and a brand name purse. A tight piece of fabric, you could barley call it a dress, was glued onto her body. A man in a fancy, and what must have been expensive, tux followed her.
And then he pulled in. He drove a beautiful sports car that looked like it glowed next to my old VW bus.
He wore a Hillsong United shirt that looked like he had burnt holes in. His tan, muscular skin was showing. His pants were acid wash and he wasnt wearing any shoes. This was my type of guy.
He looked at me and nodded his head. He gave off that bad boy vibe, like he was way out of my league.
Then of course, who would love a wacky christian good girl? Probably not him.
I smiled and waved back. A slight smile appeared when he saw my Rend Collective t. It was small, but visible.
I walked over to him. Mom said I needed to make more friends, might as well start fresh.
"Hey. You need help with those boxes?" I asked him.
"Um sure"
I grabbed a box that felt really light, probably clothes. I was about to step into the house when I heard my mom.
"What are you doing Bailey?"
"Im just helping him move in"
"Well be careful and dont shut the door when you go into a room" she yelled.
I rolled my eyes as we walked into the house.
"Sorry. Shes really overprotective. She thinks every guy is going to rape me or something" I stoped. "You arnt going to rape me, are you?"
"No, but my dad might" he lightly hit my shoulder "I'm kidding" I laughed.
We walked down to the basement. It had two rooms, an open living room area a bathroom and a closet.
"Youre going to live down here then?" I asked.
"Yep. Parents gave me the whole basement"
"No way"
"Yep"
"Spoiled"
"Hardly"
"I like your shirt" I said.
"I like yours"
"Its nice to know someone with the same taste in music"
"And the same style" he said, nodding to my acid wash shorts. I smiled.
"Um, I'm going to get more boxes" He said. I followed him up the stairs.
He didnt have much stuff. Three boxes labeled "clothes" one box that said "music" one said "bathroom" and the last two said "stuff"
We put the clothes away together. This kid had some awesome style.
"I never asked you your name" I realized.
"Max"
"Bailey"
"Its nice to officially meet you"
"Same here"
When we unpacked the second "stuff" box, I pulled out a beat up monkey stuffed animal.
"I guess you know my secret now" he said.
"Its cool, I sleep with stuffed animals too" this was a sad but true statement.
"I never said I slept with him" he winked at me. I blushed.
"Oh, well um"
"Its ok. I wet the bed until I was ten"
"I wet the bed till I was nine"
"Wow. Unpack with max just became secret time"
"Oh so you have more secrets?" I challenged.
"Lots more"
"Ohh spill the beans"
He sighed.
