ou're walking down the road, you meet two paths
One or the other, but this ain't math
Do you wanna be rich, or do you wanna be poor?
It's up to you to choose, which door to explore.
The rich have money, but they've got rules,
The poor need money, but they've got other tools.
How do you think the ruler feels, ruling his monarchy,
How about the rags to riches story, by Andrew Carnegie?
One wastes his days, eating and drinking,
The other uses his day, helping and thinking.
One was born and raised to only lust for power,
One rose to where he was, by working every passing hour
The rich don't have everything, just look at Andrei!
An aristocrat, in the novel by Tolstoy.
Because Andrei felt that he was wasting his life away,
He wanted to do something that might amount to something someday.
With nothing to do, and his life mundane,
Andrei went to war, and got his hands stained.
Now look at another novel, Huckleberry Finn,
About a poor boy, and the escaped slave, Jim.
Through their journey together, both of them discover,
That it's what's on the inside that matters, not what's on the outside cover.
They develop a multitude of moral values along their adventure,
And yet no bard has made their story into an overture.
Just think who's better off, when it's all done and said,
The noble with money in his pocket, or the man with knowledge in his head
