My feet sliced through the air as I peddled as fast as my legs could. The sides of my lips rose into a smile. I had nothing to run from. It was summer, school was over, the stress was gone. I was at peace.
I grasped the handles on my bike and glided down the street. The thick summer air swallowed me, the feeling was unstoppable. I needed a plan, this summer needed to be wild, fearless. Every night like this. I wanted thrills, happiness, even love if I could find it. This summer had to live up to my expectations. How I craved tan lines and fire pits. I yearned for tank tops and flip flops.
Summer was nearly here.
