"WHAT A FUCKING ASSHOLE" you yelled and threw your phone on your bed. You felt tears starting to sting your eyes from what he had just said.
"After all this time.. how can he treat me like this?!" You sat down on the floor and tried to calm down by breathing. You glanced at the clock. 7.43.
"Shit I'm gonna be late again"
You grabbed your purse and stormed out of the apartment. It had started to rain but you didn't have the time to run back inside to get your umbrella. The rain slowly started to hurt your already swollen eyes which forced you to close them for a moment. Suddenly you felt the ground below your feet disappear and you could feel your face against the wet pavement.
"Oh my god are you okay?" a man asked with a panicked voice. You rubbed your eyes without answering and tried to get up.
"Are you okay?" asked the man again, this time with more empathy. You looked up at him and answered with a light 'I'm okay'.
You tried your best to hold back your tears, took your bag that had fallen on the ground and continued your way to work. You realised you had hit your elbow on the ground which made your eyes water even more than before, and because there was no one else on the street with you, you didn't hold them back anymore.
"What a shit day" you mumbled to yourself. Your clothes were completely soaked now and the rain didn't seem to stop anytime soon.
"Wait is this yours?" you heard the familiar voice behind you. You turned around and saw the man running towards you, holding something that looked like your phone.
"I think you dropped it" he said with a calm voice.
You sighed.
"Of course I did.. thank you" the man smiled and introduced himself.
"Yoongi"
You looked at the man properly this time and suddenly calmed down. He was handsome, his hair looked soft even though it was completely soaked like the rest of him. He had this glow which almost looked angelic and you felt as if you didn't even want to look away.
"I'm... Y/N"
He smiled again, but his facial expression changed quickly.
"Are you crying?" he asked.
"What? Uh... no it's just the rain" You tried to wipe your face without ruinining your already flooding
makeup.
You snapped yourself back to reality, grabbed your phone from his hand and turned away.
"I'm going to be late to work, I'm sorry" you said to him before starting to walk away again.
As soon as you got to your work you took off your wet coat and switched to your work outfit. The warm clothes made you feel a bit better and you decided to make yourself a cup of hot coffee. The rest of the morning went by like any other one, you did as much work as you could so you wouldn't have time to think about him. The person you had just days ago loved the most, but who now deserved the first place in your most hated list. Your elbow still ached a bit, but luckily you got away with just a bruise.
It was a fairly busy day at the café, you didn't even have time to check your phone. When it was finally time for your lunch break, you pulled it out your bag to see if you had any messages. Your attention was turned towards a small bright yellow post-it-note-like paper glued on the back of your smartphone. On it was a phone number and a single letter
'-Y'.
"So that's why it took so long for him to bring me my phone" you thought and smiled without realizing it yourself. You shook your head. Why would you call some stranger you had just fallen on on your way to work.
