I looked up at the inky black sky and sighed in relief. I was gone, I was free, I was alone. I felt the cool grass under my skin and the nights breeze stroking my cheek. I let my fiery hair fall down my back in a cascading waterfall of curls. He had never liked my red hair, he thought it was unnatural and should be hidden away but he wasn't here now. I could do whatever I desired.

I listened for any trace of noise but it was still and silent. Just the way I liked it. There was a faint whisper coming from some of the trees slightly swaying though, and the wind flying through the air. There were stars that night. Beautiful, shining opals scattering the sky with the biggest diamond glittering carelessly down at this troubled earth. But here, here it was not troubled because only one person was here. Me.
