Why do I write?

Why do I write?
I honestly don't know
But it started in the 6th Grade
When I had to write
Two whole paragraphs
And so I did
Not a single word more
She encouraged me to keep on
Writing more than the limit
And so I did
Then in 7th Grade
We had to write a story prompt
Which had to follow guidelines
And with what my 6th grade teacher said in mind
And so I did
With skipping lines for dialogue and typing
It amounted to ten whole pages, but
I did not feel satisfied
I did not make my first finished story till
When I was in 7th grade, going into 8th
In the summer
It was a strike of joy as I completed the ending
As the journal it belonged in
Was lost forever only moments after
But I did not give up
And vowed to keep writing till the day I die
In hopes to make a story
One million times better
Than the one I lost
I do not write for my friends
Nor my family
However I am more than willing to share my work
And take into account their thoughts
As they are my motivation to keep going
From day to day
But they are not why I write
But more of the deciding factor about
What I should write about
I love them dearly
I really do
All of them
They have supported me since I have started
And never stopped
And I thank them everyday
(If I have not I thank you now till the end of time)
For you keep me going
From the day I first started
To the day my heart stops
Forever
