Quote: "The beauty of love is that you can fall into it with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time."
As I'm laying down on my bed searching for a song on my ipod, I hear the door to my bedroom open. My sister Cassandra comes in plopping down beside me. I gave her a weird look, something was defiantly up. She usually isn't home after school. We stare at each other for a while, she had this big smile on her face.
Then she broke the silence, "You look great today Cassidy." I looked down at what I was wearing. I had on a gray shirt, and a pair of jeans on. It was nothing special. I could tell she wanted something just by the sweet tone she was using.
"Thank you." I looked at her skeptically.
She started fighting with her hands, and was shifting around in her spot.
"Cassandra, I know you want something, what is it?" I asked.
She laughed loudly.
"Please tell you aren't dragging me to go shopping again." I pleaded. The las time we were at the mall, we were there for hours.
"What? No its not that." She shook her head.
"Then what is it?" I asked coned by her strange behavior.
"Okay, I'll just tells you." She breaths out. Now she is scaring me, she looked very nervous about something. "Cassidy, I think I'm in love with Lucas." She says softly.
I felt my heart instantly drop. "oh." I said stupidly.
Lucas is her boyfriend of six months. But we knew him longer. He moved in next to our house, when we were ten. He was the new kid in town. A little boy with light brown hair, and blue eyes was standing at out front door asking our parents if we could go play at the park. And ever since that day we had been best friends. Somewhere along the way, I developed feelings for him. I knew he didn't like me in that way, so I kept my mouth closed. But five months ago, Cassandra came home with this big smile on her face, she told me that Lucas asked her out. I faked a smile and told her I was happy for her.
"Did you hear me?" she said bringing me bac to reality.
"W-what?"
She sighed and repeated what she said before, "Don't you think its to soon? Do you think he loved me too? What if he doesn't?" I know at the beginning of their relationship, he told her he wanted to take things slowly. They have yet said the "L" word to each other. She must have very strong feelings for him, she's never been so serious about any of her other boyfriends before. Knowing that she was serious about being in love with him made my heart break even more.
I gave her the fakest smile I could muster, "Of course not Cassandra, I'm sure he feels the same."
"Really? You think so?" she asked hopefully. "I was thinking about telling him tonight."
This is why I look up to her, she so brave. I don't think I could ever have to courage to tell a guy that I love them first. But it was hard hearing her talking about how much she loved him.
I sat up and looked at her, "Yes, plus you're very pretty so of course he'll like you."
She shoved me. "Of course, you'd say that, we look exactly alike but I have better taste in clothes." She laughed.
"Do not." I got up and walked to my full-length mirror. My dark long brown hair was straightened, my brown eyes didn't shine so bright. IT could be because of the new I received from my sister. I was wearing a plain gray t-shirt, with black jeans and black convers. She's right, we may be Identical twins, but we do not have the same taste is clothes.
