The walk was terrible, but at least we got to listen to music. "Ash, have you ever listened to Twenty One Pilots?" Dylan, my best friend and probably only friend asked me. "No, are they any good?" I responded to their question with a question. Dylan nodded playing a song, "This one is older but is my favorite. It's called Addict With a Pen."

"I like it, what's a more recent song of theirs?" I questioned hoping all of them were as good as this one. "One of the most recent is Heathens from the Suicide Squad movie last year." I nodded knowing the extreme popularity that movie got.

After a few minutes of music I started to get bored, "Dylan, are we there yet? My feet hurt." I whined like a 5 year old child. "Piggy back?" They asked simply, stopping in their tracks. "You know me so well," I said jumping onto their back. "Onward my trusty steed!" I giggled as Dylan ran forward towards our destination.

Once we got back to our shared apartment in the wonderful city of Los Angeles I grabbed my portfolio for my final assignment of the year. I was the basic "aspiring artist in the big city" going to an art school. I walked out of my room into the kitchen/living space, "Dylan, im going to turn in my portfolio!" I shouted letting them know I was leaving, I heard a yell in response as I walked out the door.

Walking along the busy streets of LA was fun to me, I love meeting new people. Me being me wasnt paying attention to where I was going so, of course I ran into someone. "I'm so sorry!" We said at the same time, i nodded getting up off of her, grabbing her hand helping her up. "Sorry," I said sheepishly, looking at my feet. "Oh, that alright it was my fault." The woman, who looked about my age shrugged. "My name is Ashlyn," I announced quietly. "Melanie," she replied shaking hands with me, I then relized, "Shit, my portfolio!" I sais looking around frantically, I  can't lose this, I need to finish this year. I need to prove them wrong, I can't. My thoughs started running a million miles an hour, my hands started to shake, I bet I was freaking Melanie out. "Hey, hey, calm down. Breath with me," Melanie comforted taking deep breaths, I started following her breathing afther a few minutes of that I finally delt better, "My portfolio, did you see it?" She looked around, "Is that folder it?" I looked to where she was pointing, seeing my blue folder of all my art. "Yes it is, thank you so much." I thanked, "It's no problem, really." She brushed off my thanks, "Thank you still. Um, also c-c-c-" she cut me off. "Have my number? I thought you wouldnt ask." She said gestruing for my phone. I gave it to her and she put her number in, handing it back to me. "Bye, Ashlyn, I'll be expecting a text tonight." She said walking off.

After I turned my portfolio I went back to my apartment, "Dylan! I got a girls number!" I shouted though out the apartment. "Tell me more," they said out of no where. I then launched into the story of how I met this cute girl. "Whats her name?" Dylan asked "Melanie." I replied, "Text her, now." They ordered. I nodded pulling out my ohine ans going to the contcat she put as "Melanie Martinez" Dylan's eyes widened and started freaking out, " You got the number of someone famous!" They chanted. "What is she famous for?" I asked, after Dylan calmed down they answered, "Music."
