Laura is the new management director at the child's protective services office in Boston, Massachusetts that she got transferred to. She has yet to meet any of her co-workers, she is excited to tell everyone about the city. She hasn't seen Perry, Laf, Danny, Kirsch, Mel or Theo for a couple years now and hasn't talked to Carmilla in a year or so, the last she knew Carmilla was with Matty doing sisterly things. She walked into her new office unnoticed by anyone, because there heads were doing and they were scribbling away on whatever they were working on.
She was sitting at her desk when her boss Jon knocked on the door frame and asked if he could come in not really giving her the choice. Jon said i want to introduce you to your assistant Danny. Danny is a go getter and excellent at her job she is always up for a fight. Laura smiled and said that reminds me of some friends back home. Jon said jokingly ask if they are looking for work. In all seriousness, Danny is a very hard worker I think you both will get along well. Jon's phone rang and he answered it, Hello? Hi Danny you're on your way to meet Laura now? Okay will see you in two minutes.
No sooner did they hang up, he was headed to meet her at the door. Laura this is Danny! Laura and Danny meet eyes and they smiled and said nice to meet you. Danny I will be making a side office for you within the week Jon announced to them both. Laura maybe your boss but you will work as a team and equals understood? Laura replied sir you will have no concerns on us working together. Okay I will leave you two to it then.
As soon as Jon left their office Danny asked how Laura has been? I have been great honestly, I mean look where I am, I'm the little journalist that could. Danny laughed and said you're the little journalist that can and will man. So have you heard from any of our friends of late? Not since the last time we all talked together. There is our reunion that is coming up soon. Wow I totally forgot about that. Not to be insincere but have you heard from fang face? We haven't really talked since the breakup, not of lack of her trying or anything just me ignoring. Your ignoring when your the one that wanted to stay friends?
I know it was what I wanted from her, but I couldn't bring myself to talk to her because of my feelings.
