Different

Chapter 1

Anna is a shifter. A shifter is someone who can change into any animal that you think of. When Anna is bored sh e turns into a puppy and roams the streets. When she got back her father would yell at her.

"Where have you been it is 8:00 and you left the house at 7:00!!!" he said.

Anna said, "You can't expect me to live inside of this house 24/7 just because you want me to!! I know you think you love me but the way you act towards me shows me that you will never love me!! The only reason you kept me after mom died is because of my power!! You are doing experiment constantly on me and trying to figure out how I got my powers and how the heck am I the only one that has powers in this whole dang  world!!  Well guess what I HATE YOU!! Just leave me alone!!"

"You do not get to talk to me that way young lady," her father said, "I will do what I want when I want and whenever I want!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!?!"

What her father said left Anna speechless. She stormed up to her room. Anna decided that she would run away from her father. She heard a knock coming from her window. Outside her window was Jackson her best friend. He was her best friend since elementary school. Jackson was sitting in the tree waiting for her to open the window so they could talk.

"Hey I heard screaming. What's wrong?" Jackson said. 

"Did you hear everything that we were shouting?" said Anna.

"Yeah, I heard how your mom died, your dad experimenting on you and that you have these rare powers. Why didn't you just tell me about your dad and your powers? Did you think that I would report you to the authorities because you are different? I understand if you did think that because other people might but I would never stab you in the back like that. I promise that I will never tell anyone about your abilities." 

Anna is having a flash back to when her mother died. Her mother had cancer and was battling it for 9 years so far. When Anna's mother found out that she had cancer Anna was only 9. Her mother went through radiation and Chemotherapy but nothing worked. Anna's mother had brain cancer. When Anna turned 18 her mother died. That night as Anna was laying beside her mom she wished that she could be a bird so that she could fly away from all of the pain in her life. That is when she realized that she was different.

"Hello are you going to say something!?!?!" Jackson

Anna jumps when she hears Jackson ask her if she is going to say anything.  She yells at Jackson for scaring her like that.

"Dang girl you do have to get so mad I only wanted a response to what I said. You know that I will never tell anyone about your abilities right?"

"Sorry you bringing up my mom made me have a flashback to when she died. But anyway yeah I know that you will never tell anyone about my abilities. This I why you are my best friend."

Little did Anna know that soon Jackson would betray her. He would make her do anything he wanted or he would tell the whole school about her abilities and get her taken away for experiments.
She did not want to be abandoned by her family and by her best friend.
