Withered Hearts

Chapter 10

Koda's POV

My mom had called me and said my dad called and said he was on his way to our house. I didn't want my mom with him alone so I rushed home. When I opened the door my mom was there with my dad. She was smiling. What's that about?

"Hey mom. What's going on?" I asked. 

"Honey there is something that I have been meaning to tell you." she started.

"Your father and I have been dating again and I'm convinced that he has changed. He's moving back in."

She gave my father a kiss. No.No.No. There is no way in hell I'm staying if he is. I will not let him back into my life after what he has done to me.

"Hey son, I know I haven't been much of a father, but--"

I cut him off.

"You sure as hell haven't and you may have foolded my mom, but you won't fool me!"

I ran to my room and lost control. I was screaming and kicking and punching for what felt like hours. I picked up my phone and called Skyler. 

"Hello?"

"Hey. Is it okay if I spend the night? There's a lot going on at my house right now and I just need some time away from home." I explained.

"Yeah, sure."

I packed some clothes and some other stuff I may need and left. My parents tried to stop me from walking out, but something tells me they knew where I was going and that I just needed some time to think things over and get used to this new arrangement. The walk felt so long, but I could finally see Sky's home in the distance. After the second knock she came to the door and the look on her face made me love her more. She had the look of concern, worry, and love. Nothing was said, she just leaned in and kissed me. There was a lot of emotion in her kiss and it quickly made my breathing heavy. For a second I forgot the reason why I had came to her house. Sky must've noticed this because she pulled away. We walked inside and went upstairs to her room. Tomorrow was Friday so we would have school. So I grabbed some underwear, shampoo, conditioner, and toothbrush and went to the bathroom. I let the warm water of the shower warm my cold body and I took my time washing my body and hair. I put on my boxers and walked back into her room. She must not have noticed me right away, but when she looked up she couldn't look away. It was quite funny, her mouth was open and she was seriously checking me out. I felt confident under her gaze and wondered what she was thinking. 

"You like what you see?" I teased.

"Yeah!! I didn't know you had abs!!" she exclaimed.

"I didn't know you had abs either!" I argued,

"Yeah, but you're sexy." she mumbled.

I sat on the bed next to her. 

"So are you. You're beautiful sweetheart." I said.

I hugged her which soon turned into a make out session. After a while we both pulled away out of breath. 

"Koda? Why are you over here? What happened at home?" she asked.

I dreaded that question, but knew I had to explain at some point. So I took a deep breath. 

"My dad is moving back in. My mom and him had been dating behind my back."

Sky was just as shocked as I was. She gave me another hug and I was happy no one said anything. I didn't want to talk. There was nothing to be said. 

"Let's go to sleep. We have school in the morning." she said.

I sat back and got comfortable and watched as Sky got comfortable on my chest. Sky is an amazing girl. I'm not sure how I got her and why it was me, but I'm happy and so is she. I watched her as she slept. Watching her head rise and fall so as did my chest. 

"You're so beautiful." I whispered and soon fell asleep.
