The Dream Of All Prisons

I walked across the hallway with one of my cheerful friends and a random guy. One person from the security team stared at us because we had arrived at the gate where our lives would change forever. Well.. It's probably  more like because we had missed roll call. My friend, Angelica had been staring at the other random guy the whole time, ever since he helped her get up from her fall. She just tripped over nothing! Her bright messy pink hair that worked well with her green eyes, went everywhere. To explain Angelica's intense way of staring, I would have to explain why she's in prison, but her story would come sooner or later.

"Hey, I'll take it from here." The security guard was in front of the owner of that voice.

"I can't just let you take my job."

"Well, apparently Samantha can let me."

The guard stepped to the side to read the paper that was given to him. A dirty blonde haired man with dark brown eyes and well-tanned skin walked up to us.

"Let's go while he's distracted!" He motioned us to follow him and we did.

There were so many cells and stairs to go through. All of us should be glad that we had only been placed at ground level. The man had turned around to look at us. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks to finally examine his features. They were sort of familiar with the other man who came with us as a prisoner. Muscular, athletic, handsome.. I mean, cool looking.

"Ryan Woods, Shane Anderson, and Angelica Grayson. Correct?" The brown-eyed man had pointed at each of us as he said our names.

Angelica was my friend's name and Ryan was the other guy's name. Ryan Woods sounds like a dorky name, even though he looks the opposite. You could say he looks manly. Heh.. I'm not trying to offend the people with those names though.

"Welcome To Arkhaim Prison! Where all dreams go to die. The name is not from Batman, so please do not mispronounce it. Even though it fits it so well," he mumbled the last sentence, "This prison is split up into 10 different sections that you'll find out later. Arkhaim is one of the largest places that can occupy about 2 million people. Hopefully, you have all read the prisoner's version of Arkhaim and also my name is Scott O'Brian. If you need anything, just ask me. Any questions?" Scott's introduction was a mouthful.

We all raised our hands and Scott smiled.

"Perfect. No questions! Just one warning before you go. Please Beware the Fox." He had left us before we could say anything more.

Scott seemed awfully cheerful even though he's stuck in prison. Everyone looked confused. Wasn't he supposed to show us around?! The security guard who originally was supposed to give us a tour was breathing at a rapid pace. He stood there with his hand on his chest with his body swaying slightly side to side. That man was clearly out of shape. Maybe they have a nurse around here, and it'll be even better if they had a doctor. His sweat was visible all over the poor guy's uniform and before I got to say anything. Ryan spoke.

"How do you even survive here? Aren't you supposed to be extremely fit to stay alive in here?"

"I.. Am not out of shape! I just searched the whole entire place for you guys. That guy who you followed gave me a rant about our prison's food instead of a slip of some sort."

Angelica and I had our moment of laughter, while Ryan joined in too. By nightfall, we had been told where we were going to sleep and the full tour of Arkhaim. I'll just hope that my cellmate won't be a murderer. Then there it was, the door to where I'll be living in. It's rusty metal went well with the stainless steel metal handle and it's-

"You know you can just open it. It's not locked from the outside." A raven haired man with an eyepatch on his right eye looked at me.

He seemed nice, his smile was welcoming and his golden eye that was shown.. Wait a minute.. Golden eye?! How do you even achieve that color?! My instincts were shouting and screaming at me that he was a force not to be messed with. A nice smile? Hah. That's what he wants me to think. He's in jail for cryin' out loud. I stepped into the cell and the door had closed behind me. From my observations, he was a golden eyed man with pale skin and he also might be Asian. The embarrassing part of this great and nice first impression I was trying to put on him, failed. I was staring at him for way too long. He was just lying there on the bed, but it had gotten extremely scary when he stared back at me. Anxiety builded up in my chest.

"H-Hey. I'm Shane Anderson. I'm in prison for grand larceny and I hope that we can get along. Who are you?"

"H-Hey. I'm Akihiko Matsuyama," he replied mockingly, "and I'm in prison for being accused of homicide." His voice deepened after that.

I sat down on the bed and thought about what he said. Great. I jinxed myself, and what was his name again? Akihiko.. Matsuyama. I yawned and put myself in a comfortable sleeping position in my new bed. The material was very stiff and the orange uniform I was given was stiff as well.

"Good luck me," I whispered to myself.

I thought to myself in bed and remembered what Scott had told all three of us. "Beware the Fox." Soon I had dozed off to sleep. Then I woke up and rolled over to my backside since my spot was becoming uncomfortable. I had just realized that Akihiko was gone. "Something fishy is going on.." A scream of a man echoed around the prison with a grunt followed after. An alarm was sounded and all prisoners had awoken and disturbed of their sleep.

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WERE TWO ANIMALS WHO WEREN'T AWARE OF THEIR DIFFERENCES.
