It was The Fourth of July. Yes, it was a holiday but you never saw it as anything special. You loved it not because of the picnics or the celebrations or even the wonderful food, but simply for the fireworks. They burst in the sky, and for a moment seemingly fill the world with light. And the sound, the sound let you drown out the world. It was the one time you felt genuinely happy. It was almost... Too magical. The moment seemed to last forever. But when it was over all the boring days were like torture. When will it end? All the days would run together and nothing would stand out... Except for that one special day. One Fourth of July was especially magical. It was the year 1976 to be exact. You see, you waited all day just for the fireworks. You woke up at 6am and just waited in the field near your house (of course you always brought a book). But this year, there was another boy sitting a fairly short distance from you. Strange... You avoided eye contact like the plague (you were, after all, a socially awkward 14 year old boy). But eventually curiosity got the better of you. Who knows? Maybe you could be friends. You took a deep breath and stood up. As you approached the boy you noticed just how cute he was. He looked at you and smiled. You immediately turned beet red. You could feel yourself blushing. You looked down at your feed and all you could manage was a simple "Um...H-hi.."
