A man without sin
Isn't quite a good man;
A sinner, not a bad one
They are but simply Human
For religion and God's
Rarely vouch for peace
Their motto is fear, vengeance
Apathy and reverence
If one does not fear and worship,
He is doomed
If one cares more for worldly and human affairs
He is doomed
The fearful traditionalists say
"Why take the chance? Worship, just in case"
They claim no atheists in a foxhole
A poker chip on the table is better than none
But how can they gamble
With their only coin so?
There are many God's and religions
But at most, only one true god, religion
Are their chances of success
Really higher than an atheists?
And besides, being a mortal,
How can they accept the contract of religion?
Religion, that condemns good, even great men
Because they chose the wrong God
Or were born differently
Or several other variables
Religion that rewards the faithful
And at best ignores the good
But outright punishes the progressive
A vengeful and negligent God
To me, the choice is obvious
Be good, help others, and so on
And if, when you die, you face
God, the Vengeful and Hating
Does that even sound like one
Worth worshipping?
A true and good God
Would see and reward goodness
Regardless of worship
I still can't understand the gamble
I've only to consider this:
"What if there is no afterlife
And my only life,
My only existence
For all of time
Is wasted on a flase religion?"
That fear, that thought, is much greater
Than any hell
Or loss of Heaven
For I choose Life; mine and yours; humanity's
