Chapter 1

Heroes always win. No matter what forces go against them, the Avengers would always win. That was how every story was supposed to end. Good overcomes evil. Well life isn't a fairytale. Fairytales give you a false hope, the hope that everything turns out okay in the end. It hardly ever does.

The Avengers fought bravely, it seemed as though victory would be theirs against Loki. We were all wrong. Wrong about the Avengers, Loki, his strength. Loki sent the Avengers running for the hills, and with no Avengers he could do with the humans and earth as he pleased.

Since Loki saw the humans as "inferior", he decided the only use for us would be as slaves. I remember the chaos as everyone in New York ran for cover. I was lucky to have S.H.E.I.L.D helicopters looking for agents and taking them back to base. But not everyone was as lucky as I.

I knew she lived near Stark Tower. I should have tried to go after her. I knew she would be one of the first to be rounded up by the Chitari. I could have saved her. Now here I sit, feeing like shit knowing my best friend is in danger. She could even be dead. I saw her apartment building being taken over, I knew she was in the group they lead out and into Stark Tower. I could still hear her voice from our last conversation before she was taken.

"Listen to me you have to get somewhere safe!" I screamed at her from over the phone.

"I can see them outside! They are going to come inside I don't know what to do!" She whispered back to me. "My only option is to hide!" I could hear her scrambling around, trying to find a place to go.

"Please be careful I can't loose you to those..things!" Just the thought of Loki's disgusting alien army touching her scared me.

All at once she got very quiet. The only sound I could hear was her light breathing as she sat in her hiding spot. Then a giant crash came from her end of the phone. I heard her gasp, then scream as the line went dead.

Once the helicopter had landed I ran to find anyone who could get me information on what Loki was planning next. I prayed he didn't kill those he captured. Fury was standing in the main area of the helicarrier, overlooking the chaos. Agents all scrambling for phones, for planes to be landed immediately. No one was safe with Loki's aliens out herding people like cattle.

"Director!" I yelled as I reached his spot on the platform. His one menacing eye looked at me strangely. He had fear in his eye. No one had ever seen the director look like this. Ever.

"Agent Bella. I am glad you made it out of there safely." He spoke very calmly considering what was going on.

"Same to you, sir. I need to know what is exactly happening please, sir." I looked up at him hopefully.

"Yes, well-" He was cut off by the lights and all technology suddenly shutting down. The whole ship got silent, everyone was confused. The main projector went off and a big, blue hologram of non other than Loki appeared.
