Let's start by explaining the tops and bottoms of a ship
Tops refer to the romantically interested individuals who would most likely start off a conversation and be the more dominant relation heavy partner
Bottoms are practically the opposite. The more shy a bottom is the more dominant the top must be to have a healthy ship
Dash is extremely top and Becca is even more so bottom
That's why ships such as Dash X Becca are very popular
Ships suck as Saya X Alex are weak because neither individual would be interested, and neither individual would be top
Some ships can work out well because both individuals are top. This can be called the genetics train because two dominant scan work just as well and have the same result as a dominant and recessive
Ships are more enjoyable when both a top and bottom are present, making double top ships a little less appealing to shippers like me and Erika
Anyway, ships can also be enjoyable when a strong individual is weak relationship wise and a weak individual is strong relationship wise meaning ships such as Eren X Levi are absolutely adorable
Now let's worry about the concept of personal pairings
Pairings irl must have the following criteria to fit the mathematical CUTE algorithm: 1. Guy must be taller then girl, and if not, girl must either be a tsundere, himidere, or outgoaibg in general
2. In order to match a timid guy with a girl, you cannot choose someone equally timid, one of the reasons why Kellan X Kacey doesn't work
3. lack of romantic interests must be resolved with the partner having increasing interest or else the ship won't be capable of sustaining itself
As I previously stated, when it comes to ships that fit under the TG category Top and bottom rules apply but I'm not sure about the criteria for physically appealing ships
They might match up hypothetically but in the end just look unsustainable.
In order for a successful Yuri ship to exist, you must need to criteria. 1. both girls in the yuri ship must have near the same body type, seeing as its unappealing to the audience to see two girl shipped with comepletly different body types. Unless of course, they successfully finish the algorithm of top and bottom which is usually the case, a yuri ship cannot Co-exist without scaled out body types. This same system occurs when looking at Yaoi ships as well.
