You should all be thanking VampireHeart4005. She totally kicked my butt in getting this done for all of you. Enjoy! =]

I sat at the kitchen table with a mug of coffee in hand. Despite drinking my weight in alcohol last night, I had the magic ability to feel perfectly normal the next day. Mady called it a super power. I liked to think of it as a sixth sense.

I sort of wished she did feel sick this morning though. Memories of last night were crystal clear in my mind, replaying like some horror film on repeat. Who was that woman that approached the hottie in the club? It certainly wasn't Ariella Marie Hamilton; the anti-social, honor roll student.

There was a heavy groan from the hallway. Shortly after my roommate entered the room, cringing at the sunlight peering from the kitchen window. Mady slumped into the chair across from me with a loud sigh and reached for her own mug.

"God, I hate hangerovers," she murmured into the cup.

"If you didn't drink so much, you wouldn't have them," I replied.

Mady glared in return and put her drink down. "I don't recall you being entirely innocent. Weren't you with that guy? Um..."

"Jayden," I said as a blush crawled up my cheeks. I had never felt so bold before. Mady's taunting and the alcohol had obviously turned me into a different person. I could feel the embarrassment seep into my now sober body.

"Yeah. Tall, dark, and handsome. Mm. He call you yet?"

I shook her head. "I doubt it. It’s only been a couple of hours." I was actually afraid to look at my phone. Would he realize what a loser I had been in the club? I looked pretty desperate at the end of the night, chasing him down and pinning my number to him.

I watched as Mady took another sip. "You don't think I was too...pushy, do you?"

Mady snorted. "You were assertive, Ariel. Something I hardly ever see from you. Guys think it’s hot."

"Not if you're clingy though." I shook my head and gulped down the rest of her beverage. "Never mind. Do you want cereal for breakfast?"

"Coffee and a meal? Don't I feel special." She laughed and then seemed to remember her hangover. "God, I'm going to be sick."

"Oh yeah, Chase called. He wants you to come in for work today."

"Tell him to fuck off!" Mady groaned through the pain, placing her head on the table.

I laughed, pushing a bowl of Cheerios to my miserable friend. "C'mon. You always blow him off. One of these days he's really going to fire you."

"Is that when he finally gets a backbone? Or is bored of eye fucking me?" Mady murmured through the table. She picked up her head and made a face at her food. "Remind me to never, ever drink again."

I arrived at Barnes & Noble no later than usual. I preferred a good novel to people anyday. It was fact that books didn't judge who you are or what you did and provided an escape from the harsh reality. Journalism was the major I picked and was certain I would enjoy. Everything in my life was slowly falling into place.

For one second I looked up from my novel into the grinning face of the night club hottie.

"Jayden!" I gasped, staring at his tall frame. He was a lot nicer to look at now that I was sober and out of the dark shadows of the night. His clothes really hugged his frame. I pursed my lips at the thought. Keep your eyes up, honey my mind mumbled sarcastically.

He tilted his head to one side, quite adorably. "You seem surprised. I told you I would see you soon." The amusement was clear in his eyes, and his smirk.

"Oh. Well. Yeah, I guess..." I closed the book and made sure to hold it face down. There was a very detailed and vivid sex scene in the story. How embarrassing was that? "What are you doing here?"

"I was contemplating something, but I couldn't seem to come up with a decision." The smile widened on that breathtaking face. "Maybe lunch would help. Would you like to join me?"

I blinked. Then blinked again. He was asking me on a date? "Sure..." My insides practically squealed at the opportunity. "Just let me put the book back."

Swiftly, he grabbed the novel out of my sweaty grasp. "Allow me." There was a mischievous look to his features now, making me think he knew all about that sex scene I was reading about. I pursed my lips and looked to the ground. He couldn't possibly know that...right?
