A Market, A girl, And an unexpected surprise

 It was only a while ago when it happened, when all the emotions inside of me fell apart. The moonlight shined on me, making it the only source of light I had. I sat there in the exact position from a few minutes ago, my eyes were still as wide as ever and I was still breathing heavily. What did I just do? This choice I made, was it the choice he wanted?

It was Saturday, the market was full of noise from children whining to merchants bribing and manipulating foolish and unaware customers. I stood there in excitement, it's been a while since I went to the market.

I remember how mother used to take me when I was younger, we would go there to buy herbs for mothers work. Mother was a herbalist that worked in the village but ironically she caught an illness after my 15th birthday and the herbs we had didn't seem to be working, she's been getting worse as each day comes.

The reason I went to the market was to see if there was any other medicine my mother hadn't tried taking yet. As I pondered over my thoughts, I bumped into what seems like a man's back.

"Hey girl watch where you're going!" a deep yet intimidating voice called out to me, "I- I'm sorry sir I wasn't paying attention." My voice was as calm and silent as always, I would always be made fun of as a kid because I always seemed to mumble.

I opened my eyes to see glass all over the road, It seemed I broke the glass sculptures the man was selling.

The man seemed to notice the broken objects, what I saw next horrified me, the man's arm was in position to slap me.
