A runaway slave, a hunted fugitive
A poor school for the human intellect and heart
On the soil of the Pilgrim Fathers, I appealed to them—law or no law,
serious in the pursuit of freedom.
What can any such thing have to do with us?

A man who expected to succeed in whipping, must also succeed in killing her.
Would we have to do something other than dress for success?
Not debate them; stop them.
Not discuss it; stop it.
Would we have to stop pretending?
So grandiose, so arrogant, so unfeminine,
gauche to be too sincere about these things
Whisper and say please.

These are the women in the pictures
Very serious women; serious in the pursuit of freedom
They don't want to debate "free speech."
Fugitives from the men who made a profit off of them.
They disappear when the danger gets too close.
No help, no protection, no dignity, no solace, no justice.
The law has nothing for them
