On a rainy night in Georgia, around two o'clock, a man, his name is Cal, was fast asleep when he was awaken by the sound of glass shattering. Cal was groggy for a second then, realizing what could happen if he stayed there, ran to his closet carrying his lucky baseball bat. He knew that there was an intruder in his home because he heard loud footsteps and shuffling. He felt his heart racing and was afraid that the unwelcome guest would hear his heart beating. Cal tried to calm down but was way too scared of what would happen if he was discovered. He could then hear whoever was in his house coming up the stairs. He also heard, for some reason, some ghostly wind along with some scraping along the wall of his home. Cal then heard his doorknob jiggling until the door slowly creaked open. He heard the footsteps move closer and closer to the closet door. Cal hoped that the intruder would give up and go away. Sadly, the footsteps stopped directly in front of his door. After what seemed like an eternity, the footsteps started to move away from the closest and Cal exhaled in relief. He didn't realize what he did until it was too late. The closet door opened and what Cal saw was like what you would see in a nightmare. There, right in front of the doorway, was a hooded figure. This would seem normal enough but the thing about this figure was that it seemed to have no face. Suddenly, Cal heard a demonic voice inside his head. The voice, which Cal thought came from the intruder, said " Hello " in an amused, raspy tone. The police never found the body or the culprit, but there have been several other murders with the same MO. The papers named the demon the Nowhere Man because no matter how early they got on scene, both the victim's body and the demon were gone. There were never signs of forced entry or any struggle. The doors were always unlocked. Thus, the story's moral? Check your doors. You could be next!
