millie's pov
"sweetie, i have some news to tell you" my mom says as she barges into my room.
"yea what's up?" i say slightly annoyed.
"your father got a new job offer"
"that's great, i need to know this because?"
"we have to move." she looks away, dreading my reaction"
"WE'RE WHAT?!"
"it's not too far sweetie, just a few states down"
"blah blah just a few states down blah" i mocked.
"i know you're upset so i won't punish you." she sternly says as she exits.
i can't move, i have made so many friends in this place. so many memories. wasted. soon to be forgotten. i don't fucking care if its just a few states, you really think i give a shit? i have to text maddie and grace and let them know.

time skip: two months later
i can't believe this is actually happening. i grab my last few boxes and put them into the truck we've rented. i say goodbye to maddie and grace. they're the only friends i have, or had. i wasn't exactly "popular." everyone thought i was a freak because of my hair and i usually read alot. but one day, maddie and grace sat by me at lunch, and that was the begginning of a beautiful friendship. and now, this is the end.
i hop in the truck, crying. now, i'm in here for the next ten hours for a drive to our new house.
