i licked my lips free
of peach lip balm
watched as the fire
danced into the night like
ballerinas
they twirled around
lifted their dainty legs high
flickering embers
leaving the tips of their toes
licking at the unsuspecting people's
chests and arms and legs
towels and the sharp sticks
held for marshmallows
burning away into the night
