It's the last year of high school and Dean has moved. Again. Life seemed easy for him since he put on a smirky face and hooked up with chicks but inside he was a broken mess. The thoughts he had when he was alone or when he sees himself in the mirror is tragic. But he's okay, he will say at least. He must be so he can support his little brother. Their dad is struggling enough with jobs that every other month it seems they move again. Nothing just feels right anymore to him.
However school was starting again. It was time to finish this hell and leave it behind for good. He walks in the doors of the new school. All around him groups of friends were smiling and hugging while he just stood there, alone. He sees the front offices and start to make his way there.
The lady at the front desk was very cheering and began to say, “Oh goodie. You must be Dean my dear! Is that right?” Her voices was perky match her appearance. She had blonde hair pulled back in a bun with a pink headband to match her pink sweater.
“Uh, yeah that's me.” Dean replied in his normal stuck up voice.
She smiled and handed him a piece of paper, “Here you go. This is your schedule for the first semester. Since you are new we have a student to show you around the first day. Don't worry about class at all just look around today and learn tomorrow.” She smiled and he gave her one back.
Dean knew what is was like. He probably has been to twenty different schools in high school alone. This was just another place that he can't get attached to again.
All of a sudden the door open behind Dean and a gust of cool air hit his back. The person cleared their throat and then said, “Good morning Mrs. Hilson. Is the new kid here?” His voice was deep and calming.
“He’s right here Cas. Thank you for taking the time to show him around.” Mrs. Hilson said with a bright smile.
Dean turned around to the boy who walked in. He had messy dark chocolate brown hair and electric blue eyes. He wore a plain t-shirt showing his skinny arms and pale skin. After observing his tour guide he reached out his hand with a smile and said, “The name's Dean Winchester.”
Cas looked at his hand and slowly took it. He then said, “I'm Castiel Novak. Let's get started. This is a big school.” he began to walk out the door with Dean behind him.
After walking behind Cas Dean noticed marks along his neck seeping up from underneath his shirt collar. As his eyes focused more it began to look more like a tattoo.
“So how do you like it here?” Cas asked suddenly startling Dean.
“Huh?”
“How do you like it here? Being in Wisconsin?” Cas repeated glancing behind looking at the emerald eyed Dean.
“Oh. Um I guess it okay.” Dean said still unsure what he thinks of the place.
“Okay? Wow you give a higher rating than I would. This place is complete shit! People are quiet, weather is always too cold or too humid, and not to mention the stupid Nickname Cheese Heads.” He said with disgust.
Dean laughed and thought this man is fun. Awkwardly fun.
They toured the school making small talk until lunch. The cafeteria was huge and jam packed with students. A group of football kids started screaming and running around handing people colorful fliers. One came up to Cas.
“Cas my bro! Come to our party Friday night! No parents!” The tall tan kid shoved the flier in his face and ran away yelling and stopping by another group of people.
Cas looked down at the paper and rolled his eyes. Dean noticed this and gave him a confused look.
“They pretended to be my friend and got me to go to a party one year ago. I got drunk and they recorded me doing embarrassing stuff. They've been trying to get me to go since.” Cas said in a cold voice glaring as another kid ran by.
“Man I'm sorry. It does seem like a fun way to start a year though,” Dean said taking the flier, “ I mean it could help me meet people. Plus I love a good party.”
“Be careful. Don't get into the wrong crowd.” Cas said with a warning expression as he turned back around to face the front of the line.
Dean didn't listen though and when Friday came he was prepared to party. And party he did as he got so drunk that Dean began a massive fight.
