Chapter 2
I woke up early the next morning with my head on the table and two ladies bringing food out and setting on a Buffett table. The clock in the wall read 6:30 and I mentally groaned knowing I couldn't go back to sleep in a cafe.
A group of young girls wearing uniform tees walk into the isolated cafe and start taking the food. Need I remind you I haven't eaten in over twenty four hours. I was lucky to have found a water fountain yesterday when I got here but other than that nothing.
The girls looked happy and excited. Parents barked orders about not eating to much and the tweens rolled there eyes and nodded. An man came down wearing a tee matching the girls and grabbed his own food. He messed with on of the girls hair and she laughed. Ahh team bonding time.
Most of them filed out and a maid came in to restock the scrambled eggs. Once she left I quietly got out of my seat and took a plate. I put a small spoonful of eggs on my plate and sneaked a roll. They didn't know I wasn't actually staying here right?
I went back to my seat and took out my phone. No texts. Jake or Charlie should be here anytime to pick me up and hopefully we can go back to our normal life as a fucked up family.
I hastily ate the food on my plate and regretted not savoring the taste. Maybe I could get more later, once more people came down.
A rather tall, lean man walked in and smiled at me. He was rather attractive and young. He took more food than I did, then took a seat at a table across the room. He took out his phone and his fingered swiped up and down.
I looked at the large mirror on the other side of the room and saw I didn't look all that bad. Yeah a little rough on the edges, but my hair was up and my jeans had a small rip in them. I was lucky to have found my clothes when I woke up yesterday. My clothing had a little dirt on them but for the most part I didn't look repulsive. Which was great because I felt like absolute shit.
The man kept his eye on me and I began to feel uneasy. he winked and I glanced down at the table. Minutes later he got up and thankfully left the room.
I heard loud stomps from outside the small cafe and many people filed in.
"Why your in here early, Emelia." I glanced up and rolled my eyes.
"What do you want Blondie?" a smile spread across his face and he shines his pearly whites in my direction.
"Nothing just wanted to say hi. Do you really like this table? you were sitting here last night too." oh, yeah. He doesn't know I was freaking taken two days ago.
"I just really like this table." I lie.
"Well, I'm going to eat. The other boys should be down in-"
"Emelia!" I hear a deep voice come from behind me and mentally slap myself.
"Liam." I say in a mocking tone under my breath.
The man that came with all of the boys last night was in the Buffett line with Niall and they were talking up a storm. From what I could tell he was also from Ireland.
Liam left to get his food and I was left listening to everyone's conversations. All of them seemed to be British or some kind of nationality that wasn't American. I caught a glimpse of a young girl and a man around my age with his hair up; he was sitting with three other guys and they all closely resembled each other.
Liam walked back over with Louis.
"So, what are you guys doing today?" I asked no one in particular.
"Well, we are making a stop to the studio. We still need to get a few chords in the background," Liam points to the table with the four boys. " and then a concert tonight."
"Oh, well, that's cool." He nods and we just sit in awkward silence. Louis' hair was flat on his fore head and a tall woman walked over with a little girl trailing behind her.
Harry comes up with Zayn and takes a seat next to me.
"Hey, Louise." Louis drags at the girls name. She chuckles before taking gel out of her bag and rubbing it Louis' hair. The younger girl roamed around the Cafe mindlessly and the woman with name Louise rolled her eyes.
I felt out of place and wished nothing more than to go get a hotel room. But first of all I didn't have the money and second of all I didn't have the money. Money was a big issue for my "family." Charlie and Jake both worked full time while I just stayed home. Jake didn't trust me in the world and I guess after what happened he shouldn't. If someone took me from my house they would have no problem with taking me from the streets.
After about half an hour, everyone began to leave the cafe and go to work. I was left doing nothing and just waiting. The hand on the clock slowly made its way around the ring.
-
As if it was the same as the night bwfore, the girls outside the hotel yelled louder as some of the crew I met fled into the heat. It was a little cold in the evenings so they all came in bundled up. I had the pleasure of meeting most of the behind the scenes people and the band this morning.
They all passed the cafe completely oblivious to the distraught girl in its bearings. From where I had been sitting I had a perfect view of the entrance and saw when Liam and Louis along with the other boys came in.
I saw Harry mindlessly pass the cafe before seconds later taking a few steps laugh and giving me a peculiar look.
"Oh, babe, you didn't have to wait for me. I'm a big boys now." He talks down to me and I feel almost unaccomplished in life.
I have yet to achieve something great. I can't afford college and I am forbidden to work.
We had a simple conversation and after about 30 minutes they left to go to sleep. Liam stayed behind wanting to take me to my room.
"No it's fine. I kind of like it down here." I say shame clear in my voice.
"I know we aren't really exactly friends but don't mind me asking. Do you have a place to stay?" he sits across from me and I look down shaking my head.
I wasn't in the mood for answering questions to an almost complete stranger.
"Come on, Emeliay." he stands and waves his hand towards himself.
"What?" I asked completely and utterly confused.
"I have a pull-out couch and you can shower and anything else you need to do." What?
"You barely know me. Know one in there right mind would-" he cuts me off
"Well, it's a good thing I'm not in my right mind. Just come on and clean up and we can figure something out in the morning, okay?" he shook my head no and he glared at me. "Emelia, I'm just trying to be nice and it would be pretty sweet of you to except the offer." I rolled my eyes before hesitating to stand and shamefully following him to the elevator.
