Vomit, that's all I could taste. I had shivers, I was ice cold. I looked frantically for an escape, I was chained to a dark wall. "Hello beautiful" a deep, yet horrifying voice chided. The rusted chains creaked as I turned my head, searching for the voice. "You're even prettier when you're scared!" a higher, more glitch like voice called. "Mom!" I screamed, but saw a pair of eyes, one green, one blue, staring at me. A cold boney finger pressed against my lips. "Shhhh. She can't help you here." I felt my brave kick in. Stop panicking, Astro, relax, evaluate where are you? ' "A basement, my dear." I shot my eyes to meet the mis-matched glowing eyes. "Astro, is that what you said your name was?" He laughed. GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! "No." I froze. "Fine, I'm Astro, I'm ninteen, I live in Ireland." I grumbled. "Now tell me who the fuck you are." I growled. The eyes were met by a pair of glowing white teeth that grew into a snarl. "Let's play a game."
"What word means against?" the eyes asked. "Anti..." I said, confused. "What type of system does a toilet back into?" "A septic tank?" "Take the middle word. "Anti septic?" I asked. there was a chuckle. "Almost there, doll face." An icy hand landed on my cheek.
I woke up with a start in the middle of Calculus. "What?" I froze when I saw the equations on the board. "How? How?" I whispered to myself. My calculus teacher was just going about her business. I raised my hand and pointed to the door, she nodded. I ran to the bathroom. For a split second, I saw the eyes and teeth in the mirror. I heard a piercing laugh. Then they disappeared. I saw a bruise on my face and my nose was bleeding. "Anti septic." I mumbled.
You aren't done yet.
I froze. "Anti?"
I don't belong with you, I belong to someone else who is looking for you. My job is to bring you to him.
"Who"
You'll see. Nice nose bleed by the way.
I smacked myself in the face just as another girl walked in, I recognized by the voice. "Whoa, Astro, you okay there?" I spun around. "Yes, Melissa, I'm fine." I laughed.
No you're nooooootttt.
"Shut up, anti." I mumbled. Melissa looked at me. "See you at lunch." she said spinning slowly on her heels then darting out of the door. I sighed. "You're ruining my social life." I yelled.
What social life?
"Anti septic whatever, YOU'RE PISSING ME THE HELL OFF!" I yelled. Anti's face popped up in the mirror, without thinking, I drew back my hand and shattered it. Glass went everywhere, and my knuckles were caked in blood. The same glitching chuckles echoed in the bathroom. "Leave." I growled.
No. I like your company.
"I don't like yours." I said, walking back to class. It was a Saturday, so I didn't really have that much to do. After the class was dismissed, I went to a little pizzeria on the corner of Uni Av. I walked in and the wafting smell hit me.
You're eating for twoooo, Anti sang
I rolled my eyes. "Hey, Ash." Devon laughed from behind the counter. "Hey Dev. Can I get two large peperoni and buffalo chicken pizzas." He laughed. "Party? Damn, I wasn't invited." He laughed. "Dev, we need to talk." I said softly. "You okay?" He asked, leaning over the counter. "No, I'm not." I said in a hushed whisper. "There's something going on, meet me at my place after shift. I'll see if Anti will let me save you some pizza." I said. Devon took a step back. "Anti?" He said, concern in his face. I nodded. He got wide eyed. "Anti... as in Anti septice-" "SHUT UP!" I yelled and covered my mouth. "Devon, I didn't mean to yell... I-I'm so sorry!"
"He's controlling you." Devon said, whispering. "See you after shift." He said, handing me my boxes of pizza and change. I nodded and walked out.
What're you up to, Astro? Trying to get rid of me before I can even tell you my name?
"Anti, what do you want?" I said, getting in my car.
To do what I was told.
I shook my head.
He is looking for you.
I tried to ignore his obnoxious singing all the way home. I fell asleep as soon as I walked in the door.
Vomit, blood, and cyanide. The flavour swarmed my taste buds. I couldn't think right, I was dizzy, fighting for breathe, struggling to stay awake. "So... tired." I muttered. I felt a hard metal object hit my face. "UP!UP! WAKE UP!" I looked at Anti and felt blood trickle from my face. "Up and at 'em sugar!" Anti called. I looked at him. He had a splotch of green hair on his head, combed straight back, with pale skin and those same eyes and haunting smile.
"ONE TWO, ANTI'S COMING FOR YOU." He yelled in my ear. He pushed a knife against my cheek. I fought wit the ice cold rusted chains. "Stop!" I shrieked. He smacked me. "I say when you are allowed to speak." He chided coldly. He sliced my cheek. "So will we behave?" He asked sweetly, cutting another diagonal line in my cheek, then crossing the two. I whined and winced and felt tears burning in my eyes and down my cheeks. They burned in the cuts. I saw Anti's sick and twisted smile. "Don't cry, dolly." Anti said, a sharp pain singed in my neck. I let out a pained groan.
"You want to go back to our little game?" He laughed a sickening laugh. "you know the first letter. It's the same as the last." he slid up my shirt revealing my stomach. "For ever wrong guess, I get one mark." He laughed. "Envelope?" I said, realizing how stupid it was. He left a gash tracing from my jeans on my waits up the bottom of my ribcage. "Entre?" asked. My voice shaking. Stupid stupid answers! I chastised myself. Anti cut from the middle of my ribcage to the left. I felt the warm blood against my stomach. I was going to say Eye, but that seemed stupid. I winced as Anti went up to my neck with the knife. "shh" he whispered.
I woke up.
