The Protector inside

As Barend was walking through the school yard he noticed a kid sad and alone on a bench. He was about 12-13 years old and was quite small compared to him, Barend slowly and quietly started walked over to the boy and sat down "hey kiddo you okay?" said Barend and placed his hand on the boys shoulder. Startled the boy moved away. Barend stood up and knelled in front of the boy "hey whats up?" the boy looked up at the hooded Barend with tears in his eyes and replied with " I....I'm fine" Barend looked strait at him " You don't look it kiddo you may not know me but you can tell me".The boy shook his head and curled his body in to his chest and turned away "C'mon you can tell me" as he said that he pulled down his hood showing his face. Barend had a beard and quite short hair and dark but caring eyes. The boy looked at him and smiled "ha ha your the guy people call bear right?" with a huge grin on his face, "Wow i did not know my face would cheer you up and Is that what they are calling me now?...Well i guess yeah I am aha" while the boy was smiling a kid of Brandon's age shouted "hey!! who is your friend George?" the boy coward as the the kid walked over Barend noticed a red mark on Georges face. As the kid got closer Barend lent over to George and whispered " did he hurt you kiddo" as he lent back the boy nodded, Then the kid from before lent in and said "so what u guys talking about" the boy tensed and the guys face dropped "i said what you talking about" as he said that he lifted his and to the smaller boy and swung for his head as it got inches from the boys head Barend slaps his hand into the wall. "Oh so you think your a tough guy huh?" the guy takes a step back from the boy and turned to Brandon "come on then you think you are hard" said the kid in a angry tone Brandon stood up "fine but make it quick i'v got other things to do".

The guy stead at a Barend "quick oh i'll make it quick" he shouted in an enraged voice the guy ran towards Barend quite fast and took a swing at Brandon and missed him as he passed Barend elbowed him in the back of the head, he turned round and took another swing at Brandon and hit him in the face, Barend turned and fell to the floor Barend's face turned and dropped, his teeth showing he gets up and grabs his head " you pick on the weak and hurt them well you made a bad choice cause i ant weak" as he whispered that to him he let go and walked over to George. As Barend picks up George he watched the guy run off " sorry kiddo that you had to see that i hate bullies i never act like that" he smiles at George and says " lets get you too the school nurse huh?" as they walked George nodded and they left.
