Her olive skin shone luminously in the soft shade of moonlight. It was her night, or.. at least what was supposed to be her night. Ambi was finally getting married to the love of her life, Tea Benson. Whenever she saw her, Ambi's heart would pound furiously. They both had hoped their love would last until they were grandmothers.
It was love. It was.
Tea was in her wedding dress, approaching her soon-to-be wife. Ambi clenched the flowers in her hands, a nervous feeling settling over her. They both had planned this for months, beginning with Tea getting on her knee and pulling the bee ring out. Their friends helped them, Meow with the decorations, Draq helped with the dressed and even Tea's suit for dancing, Astin was the 'DJ', it was all so perfect.
Ambi glanced over to see Draq, there was a fault in her smile. Hurt in her eyes. She quickly gave her attention to Tea, as the priest began to recite their vows.
Everything was perfect. Their dresses were white with little pastel yellow accents.
Tea left a kiss on Ambi's cheek, the warmth from her lips remaining.

Tea was in the middle of changing when a knock hit her door. Opening it only a bit, she saw her mother. "Tea, you have a letter addressed to you." Tea said,"Thank you mother" and quietly closed the door after herself. Tea sat back down on the loveseat and slowly, with trembling hands, opened the letter. As soon as she see her hand writing, Tea took in a sharp breath. As she read, she couldn't stop the tears from coming. She can feel tears dripping onto my dress.
Tea had been a fool. She knew. Tea will never be able to stop loving her.
'I seal the envelope that holds my last words to you, knowing it should reach you in time before the wedding. I throw my bag onto my back and walk outside, leaving behind in the wardrobe the dress I was going to wear as ring bearer. In the distance, I can see the church where the guests will already be arriving and I listen to the chimes of the church bell calling everyone to the marriage. I ride away in the opposite direction on my goat, I dont know where the path will take me, but away from you and your true love. I knew I couldnt stay because I couldnt bear it and I needed you to forget about me to be happy with Ambi. This was for the best, this is for you, this is for Ambi, I reminded myself as I approached the borders of Texas.'
Each word left a bigger sting than the last as they were etched on Tea's body.

In their honeymoon suite, Ambi lay sleeping on the memory foam mattress. Tea sat at the desk in the room, writing a letter using the notepad with the hotel's logo.
The day is over. I sit at my desk. Ambi is sleeping soundly after a long day of dancing. I look back at her peaceful face, and then back out the window. I slowly slip off my bee ring and put it on the dresser. I think of you, somewhere out there, under the same moon and stars that I am looking at. We are so close yet so, so far. I think of what it would have been like if today had not happened. Would anything have come from it? Or not? I start to regret it all.
A sour feeling chewed at Tea's heart. She had made a grave mistake.
~
Ambi let all of her words and feelings go. However, she knew they never really were hers. Her suspicions of Tea were true. Their true love that was long ago was a flame in a candle that was blown out by her. She was left alone, watching Tea go. Ambi would reminisce about their joyful times, where pain had been foreign to both. Was Tea out with another woman then?
They were both young and their promise didn't last. However, in this fairy tale, their story comes to an end.
Ambi saw exactly how happy Tea made that girl. She never noticed, then, that she couldn't be her anymore. That girl changed their fate and ripped pages out of their love story. They made a vow, not caring of what their parents would think. Ambi wanted to forget how deep she loved Tea.
Tea was blinded by a new love and it wasn't Ambi's love.

There lay the letter on her dresser addressed to Tea.
Dear Tea..
I can never forgive you. Ever. I was never mad at you. It broke my heart, but I would break it a million times over for you to be happy. And if that is to be with Ambi, then I cannot be mad, because as long as you are happy, I am always too. I will always love you.
I can only ask that you forgive me for loving you even though you are married.
Goodbye and farewell,
Ffion
Ambi read the letter as pain shattered her heart. Realization struck her, tears welling. I was the monster in between them loving each other.
~
Ffion pinned her blonde hair up into a bun, throwing her arms up to stretch. She felt giddy about the one sleeping in her bed. However, she sighed. Was it really alright taking Tea's love for Ambi? Ffion wasn't stupid, she knew Ambi was aware. In fact, would comment how cute of a couple Tea and her were. She could see the pain in her eyes.
It didn't ever seem to bother Tea. She never mentioned Ambi around Ffion and it wouldn't really bother her if she did. It didn't feel right. Their love had gone on for longer than Ffion could even imagine and all while Tea had another lover.
Ffion would tell herself, "I'm just the side dish to a main course." How funny those words would be to her after everything has happened. Tea would tell her that she was the only one for her, nobody could understand her like she did. Ffion believe her, of course. She would wonder..
'were those words she said to Ambi?'
