Ben's point of view
"How long has it been now? More than a few weeks I'd presume?" I asked Jeff. He sat there on the sofa across from me, as silent as ever. Some say silence is great, like a little hiding spot from the world, but they are wrong. It is deafening, unbearable, and anything but calming. Unfortunately, it can't always be avoided. especially after what we went through, how could it be nice, if anything I want the exact opposite of quiet, or silent. I want everyone to go back to being happy. Why can't that just happen so easily.
"4 weeks." Jeff said suddenly, breaking the cursed silence. 4 weeks huh? For four weeks Laughing Jack hasn't left Lily's room. 4 weeks he hasn't ate, or drank anything. He's lucky he's not human otherwise he would have been dead by now. 4 weeks since I've heard Lily, seen that smile that warms a room, that laugh that you hear so rarely from her, her smart ass comments all the time, everything about her. Gone. Like an unspoken word from a stillborn infant. Heh, damn my thoughts sure are sad.
We're lucky she's still breathing at this point. She hasn't woken up from the fight, and Slenderman thinks Zalgo might have done something, yet at the same time it's hard to tell because he can still sense her powers; thus meaning Zalgo didn't take them. At that point we'd be screwed if he did. Lucky for us we're not dead, so that means she still has them. Although at what cost? What difference would it make to us! Ugh, I need to calm down.
I got up and decided to go walk through the woods for a bit. At this point I'll do anything to clear my mind. I used a device that Slender gives all of the household members to make us look human when we need to. Now I headed into the city; my dirty blond hair, brown pants, green hoodie, and to top it off my black beanie and some converse. I walked around the town a bit; stopped by some stores and what not.
I was about to head home with the few things I bought when I noticed something in one of the shop windows. It was a taffy shop. I could smell the sweet sugary candy from outside the building. I remembered those few times where I got to talk to Lily for a bit. I always loved to hang out with her and Jack. I suddenly remembered;Lily and Jack love caramel taffy. I found this out when we were having a candy eating contest between the three of us and she totally kicked our asses when we got to the caramel taffy contest. Jack was surprised because he has never been beaten at eating his own favorite candy.
I went into the store and decided to purchase a box of a dozen for Jack and another box for Lily. I hope one day she'll be able to wake up and eat it and be happy again. I want her to smile and laugh with Jack, but no instead she is in a really bad coma thanks to Zalgo. Why don't we ever get the happy ending? Why can't we end off all happy like a movie or a romance novel; I just don't understand why.
As I headed back through the forest I used the watch to change back into my natural form. I walked through the front door and the usual scene was in front of me. Jeff was on the sofa, where he never seemed to move from, Slender was cooking dinner even though I'm sure hardly anyone in this house eats or even leaves their room anymore. It's sad to watch really, he sets the table and serves everyone as if they are actually there. Every night he does this. Sometimes someone will get up and just re-heat what he made, and take it to their rooms and bring the dish down. Sometimes you can tell they only ate a bite or two.
Sally never comes down to play tea party or dress-up. Eyeless Jack only goes hunting and then straight back to his room. Unfortunately, every person has a bathroom in their room, so they don't have to leave for anything other than food, and they rarely do that. Toby hasn't been seen in a while. We assumed he went with Masky and Hoodie to their cabin in Carolina. I don't blame them honestly. It's probably much happier where they are.
