June 15th, hour 1.

Dipper solemnly looked out the window of the bus. Twenty minutes has passed after his parents had dropped the twins off at the bus stop and he was already bored. It was a 10 hour drive, not included bus stops for other passengers. Mabel was bouncing up and down in the seat next to him. Dipper sighed, it was going to be a long drive.

Mabel was beyond excited. She knew she had a great uncle, but Mabel has never met him. At least she doesn't remember meeting him as a toddler. She was excited about going to a new town and meeting new friends. This was going to be the best summer ever!

June 15th, hour 3

Mabel eventually tired herself out, she slept peacefully leaning against the sun baked window, snoring softly.

The bus pulled into a gas station, next to a bus stop. The driver turned around and spoke to the twins for the first time in 3 hours, "Alrighty kids, this is the first stop. I gotta get gas, you guys can go and buy food. Bus leaves in twenty minutes."

Dipper nodded and shook Mabel. "Pssst. Mabel! Want any thing to eat?"

"Mmm? Candy." She replied lazily and rolled over.

Dipper sighed, wondering why he expected anything different. He grabbed a twenty dollar bill and hopped off the bus, heading into the convince store.

Fifteen minutes later, Dipper boarded the bus with two bags of as much food, drinks, and candy ten dollars would buy. He was satisfied with the cheep prices in the store. He walked down the aisle towards Mabel, but stopped dead in his tracks. There was a boy about their age sitting next to Mabel talking and laughing. Anger flowed through his veins as Dipper tightened his grip on the bags. Mabel had a bad experience with boys and heartbreak. Dipper was overprotective of her when it came to boys.

Mabel spotted her dorky twin brother and waved. "Dipping sauce!! Over here!" She called. Dipper walked over, suspicious of the kid. "This is Norman!! He's going to Gravity Falls too!!"

Dipper looked at the kid. He was tall and pale, with bags under his eyes that made him look like he hasn't slept in 3 years. He had gravity denying hair that shot straight up in the air and a worn out zombie shit. He raised his lanky hand slightly in a shy greeting.

Dipper's anger was suddenly replaced with self consciousness. He was wearing a ratty old hat he had for years and a orange t-shirt. What was happening? He never cared about his appearance, so why did he now? Why were his cheeks getting warm? Dipper looked at Norman again. He was.. well.. Norman was cute. Dipper never thought anyone was cute, let alone guys! What has happening?

Norman slid to the other side of the seat, so Dipper could sit down. He held out his hand, "Hi. I'm Norman. You're Dipper right? Your sister told me about you."

Slowly Dipper shook his hand. Norman's hands were worm and soft. Dipper noticed how his lips moved when he talked. His face turned a dark pink and he quickly plopped down next to Mabel. Mable giggled and put the bags under the seat.

"Mabel!" Dipper whispered.

"What?" Mabel responded, automatically knowing what this conversation is going to be about.

"N-Norman is.. r-really c-cute.. w-what do I do..?" Dipper confessed, his hat covering his face as he looked down.

Mabel giggled. "Hey Norman! Wanna be our friend?!" She called.

Norman smiled at the offer. He never had much friends, but had hit it off with the twins. "Sure."

"There you go Dipping Sauce. Now you have all summer!" Mabel giggled as Dipper scowled at her.
