I sat up and looked around at what they called a "room." The shattered windows were covered with duct tape. My so called "bed" was nothing but a thin layer of foam. There were no pillows. The only source of light was whatever was shining through the window. But I didn't mind. My parents tried their hardest to support me. After all, I did ruin their lives.
"HANNAHHH!" I heard my dad scream from down the hall. "GET OVER HERE NOW."
I immediately got up and ran out of the room to my father.
"Y-yy--es, father?" I said, with a voice full of fear.
"Go down to that liquor store and pick us up some booze. Take your mom's I.D. with you. If you bring back the wrong kind and aren't back here by 11 o'clock sharp, I'll beat your ass, do you understand?"
"Yes, sir." I know that it's not normal to have parents to something like this to their kid. Expecially at 10:30 in the morning. But I knew that they loved me, and that I had to show them some respect.
I walked over to my mother and she gave me her I.D. It reeked of alcohol and cigarette ashes. There was even a blood stain in the corner.
I take it, making sure to only touch the edges and to avoid touching the blood stain. I quickly go outside and start my walk to the corner store. After a few minutes, I reach the store. I walk in and go straight to the "Jack Daniels" section.
It made me nervous being here, with all these people. So I quickly grabbed the big bottle of liquor and went in line.
It was my turn. I put the booze on the counter.
"Uh..I.D. please."
I gave him my mom's I.D hoping it would work.
"Alright that'll be $14.95 please."
I swiftly gave him the cash and ran out of there.
When I say "ran" I meant speed walking. I looked at my watch to check the time. Ten-Fifty-One. Crap. I started to speed walk a little faster. But as I put my head up to look away from the watch, I run into someone and fall to the ground.
"Oh my goodness, are you alright?" I heard a man's voice say.
"Yes, I'm fine." I see a hand reaching to me to help me up. "Now I have to go."
I started to walk away when a voice stopped me.
"Wait! You don't look alright. May I ask what happened to arm?"
Shit. I completely forgot about the bruises all over me.
"Umm, I can't talk right now. They need me back." I try to walk forward, but this time, someone grabs my arm.
"Whose they?" The same voice asks. I don't know what he looks like because I'm refusing to lift my head up and reveal the scars on my face.
"My parents. I just nee-- d t-o.." I start getting light headed. I think I'm about to pass out.
"Oh my gosh! C'mon, we're taking you to a hospital!" That was a different voice, except this time, it was surrounded by blackness.
