A city bound to flames

I looked out to the dusty streets of the place I could barely call my home. I looked down at my feet to the edge of the wall separating the city from the animals and the forests on the other side. I looked out towards the horizon and saw the golden rays of the sun piercing the looming grey clouds above, just at the furthest edges of my vision I could see a lone rider towing a cart behind him. I drew my sword and let out a small sigh, “I’m sorry little sister, but I must do as needed.” I said to myself before diving off the wall and plummeting towards the ground below.
