The darkness

Chapter 1

[Sophie]

I may be 15, but I'm still afraid of the dark. I know it's a silly fear, but I can't help but be afraid of the things that lurk in the darkness.
In my mind, they are coming for me. They want to kill me. They want to-

"Sophie." Someone says to me.
I blink my eyes and everything comes back into focus.

"Sorry mom, guess I was daydreaming again." I said, even though it was more of a day-nightmare.

"Sophie, I'm going out tonight. You sure you'll be fine here, home alone tonight?"
No I'm not, but you know, I'll manage.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I said, even though I knew I wouldn't be.

"You call me if anything happens. Or if you need anything." My mom said.
Yeah, I really don't wanna be here alone tonight.

My mom kisses me on the forehead. "Goodbye, Sophie. See you later tonight." She says.

"Bye Mom." I said reluctantly. Eventually, she left, leaving me by myself. Oh how I wish the rest of my my family were here, but noo.

My father was on a business trip, my sister was at her friends house, and my brother was at a hockey game tonight.

"Sophieee..." I hear something whisper to me.

"Oh noo... Leave me alone." I whimper.

"Come to me Sophie." The voice said. I groaned in sheer terror as the lights start flickering on and off.

I run to my bedroom.
I slam the door closed behind me.

I try to flick my light on, but the power is out.
Suddenly, I could hear the noises.
The monsters were growling in the darkness.

Suddenly, I am pulled into that darkness.
