Don't Wake Up...

I knew I should have stayed asleep...

But I didn't.

I awoke... I awoke to a scream; the sound echoed from the walls but then there was silence, complete silence. I froze for a minute, the door slowly crept open to nothing. I heard soft footsteps. Someone was awake and they seemed very lively, at the time it was you would have thought they would be tired but no. it was almost like they weren't human...

They didn't seem like they wanted to be heard. I stared down the endless darkened hallway. I felt a sudden cold shivering sensation run down through my terrified body. I didn't know what to do.

There was a short moment of unsatisfying silence... the footsteps had stopped now but the fear was still within me as I knew it was still there. Watching my every move. I got out of my bed, my cold bare feet gently rested against the old creaky floor boards. I quickly rushed over to the door and shut it.

The footsteps started again but it didn't sound like it was in the house anymore. I dashed over to the window. I placed my shaky hands upon the curtains. I ripped them open to see them... the bed time stories were true.

They were real!

I froze in my spot as one of those things turned and looked at me. I was seen. Unfortunately I knew how this fairy tale would end.

My feet scattered back to my bed completely oblivious that my bedroom door was wide open again. The footsteps had started again in the hallway; they were getting faster and faster, louder and louder. It was coming for me.

I knew I should have stayed in bed, I knew I should have stayed asleep...

I was sat there on my bed as I felt something grab my foot... I froze in fear. It was under my bed. I knew what would happen when it caught me and it was exactly what I thought.

It was all over. I whispered my last prayer as it pulled me under. It tore the cold pale flesh right off my skinny bones. Everything went black as my life faded away... I was so young, so innocent. But now, I was nothing... no body

And this is the point where I say Good-Bye to this sick, cruel world!
