Chapter 1

Toffee's P.O.V

It was back then when monsters HAD freedom. We HAD an island of our own. Then they came, took it away from us, I never forgave them ever since. I thought, I could be just like them. My dad was right, he was always right. How come I couldn't realize that?! Before, I actually thought I could be like them, I wanted to be like them. How could I ever be anything more than what I am now? Was moon herself like the others like my dad said. She said she loved me, hell she even kissed me, or was that all in my head? Is it Romeo and Juliet or is it one sided? 

Moons P.O.V

My heart aches for him, if only he was here he could heal my aching heart. In my heart he is not a monster, though he looks like one. He is my lover I can feel it but, is it true of what my parents say? Is he really bad news? His father may have killed my mother but, that doesn't mean the son is bad. I've known Toffee all my life, there is not one mean bone in his body, is there? I hope there isn't. 

I sighed and sunk into my chair all gloomy and I pulled out a picture of me and Toffee and sighed again. My sister, the older one, Eclipsa came into my room, ignoring and still staring at the picture in my hand. "Oh~ someone's in love with a monster~" Princess Eclipsa smirked. 

"S-so are you and he's not a monster." I stuttered glaring at her hiding the picture behind my back not wanting her to figure out, the one I love. "H-He's not a monster," Eclipsa mocked, I got annoyed. "He isn't and I know it, I've been with him all my life, he can't have one mean bone in his body!" I shouted glaring at her. 

"How do you know that, hm? How do you know, he isn't a spy, just acting to be your friend, and then bam, your hearts crushed by his terrible actions," Eclipsa smirks evilly, giving me doubts in my head. "Hey I thought you were on my side!" I shouted at her. "And what about your monster boyfriend you've been hiding behind your parent's back, how would it feel if I told them about that!" I added. "Fine, I'll help you but, first a little make over~" She smirked and grabbed me and placed me in her chair and did her thing.
