My name is Charles James. I'm 14 years old and in 8th grade. I have a girlfriend named Alyssa Brooks. She's my best friend, but I've been keeping a secret from her and I can't hold it in anymore. I just don't know how to tell her.

Three weeks later-
"Hey Charlie," Alyssa said while walking towards me. I was at my locker, getting my books. It was my free period next. "Hi Alyssa," I said admiring her long, dirty blonde hair. "So you know that new movie that came out that I've been dying to go to," she said with a grin. "Yeah what about it," I said while shutting my locker. "I got two tickets," she said with a squeal of excitement. "Oh god," I thought to myself. "You interested in owning the other ticket?" She asked with a smirk. "Yeah, of course," I stuttered, even though I tried not to. "Ok I'll see you on Saturday then," she stated while walking away.

After school-
I was on my laptop doing homework when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. "Who is it?" I asked, even though I knew it was my dad. It's the only person it could be. My mom got arrested when I was 5 for doing drugs. Whenever I bring her up or ask questions, my dad shoos my away. My older brother is in college in New Hampshire. He got in a really nice college and I'm proud of him, but I miss him. He was the one person I could trust with my thoughts. "Your father," my dad said opening the door. I glanced at him. We made eye contact, but I looked away. "Yeah," I said. "I need to tell you something." He had a tone in his voice that made me very worried. I turned and asked what he wanted to tell me. He had a tear forming in his eye. Now I was shaking. "Dad, what," I asked, needing to know. "Your... your, um... your brother got in an accident, with uh, um... a drunk driver," my dad stuttered. "No," I raised my voice a little. "Cha-" "NO, YOU'RE LYING!" I was now screaming. I ran out of the room tears the size of diamonds rolling down my cheeks.
