Held on Ground

My trembling feet wonders against the dirt.
My feet run upon the earth that carries my living appearance.
My feet chases the life that I wish to call my own in the midst of reassurance.
Reassurance that I have not yet to know.
But in the midst, the appearance of my seventeen years of life unravels before me.
But I'm stuck.
Stuck in between light and dark.
My feet glued to the cement man kind has made.
My feet can longer chase what my depriving body feeds on.
It's gone.
And here I am
Here I stay
Here I lay
Here I rest
Here, my soul was made.
Here I stay, my feet in length with a ball and chain.
I can no longer feed on the happiness I once depended on.
I can no longer breathe what made my childhood I called fun.
Here it greeted me, waving the key in front of my face,
"Welcome to life" it said.
Here, I searched for a tree but everything is night.
I looked for the bodies I once ran with, but they were no longer running for life.
They ran in the color blue.
Within my body I can feel the earth stiff beneath me.
I can feel the ocean that I once called my home, dead at sight of day.
But how could this be?
How could all things living be breathing but not living?
I was told to put on these big clothes.
To put on the mask that was handed to me.
I looked around and followed.
Through the holes on the mask, my eyes peeked at the world I do not recognize.
I look in the mirror to see the face this mask tries to hide.
It's ugly.
But it's me, it's smiling.
But it's not my smile.
I frown beneath the mask and open the door it had told me to open.
I was greeted by my creator.
My creator told me
"You have to do this, if you want your life to be perfect"
Perfect, I do not understand.
Then and there it hit me.
The real world was never in plain sight, it was never once said to be as scary as it seems.
I can no longer feel the happiness I was deprived for...
I'm simply another body floating around, held on ground connected by the ball and chain tagged by a silver plate that had written my name.
And there I stayed.
