Wonders of the Castle

Chapter 1

    "That was a really fun sleepover, Jaylin," my friends Wendy and Alexia told me.
"Thanks!" I replied, "Do you guys want to go on a hike in the woods before you have to go?" I asked.
"Sure," Alexia replied.
"Sounds fun!" Wendy acknowledged.
"Let's go," I said. We started walking on our hike in the woods, laughing about our fun night, when we heard a noise. It wasn't like any noise we've ever heard before, it was more like a growl mixed in with a whoosh sound. We had never heard anything like it, so we went closer. As we got closer to the noise, we saw it. It was a huge castle, about the size of a town.
"Jaylin," Wendy said, "where are we?"
"I'm not sure," I replied," I've never seen anything like it".
"Where is your house?" Alexia asked nervously.
"Oh, it's that way," I pointed, but nothing was there, "Let's walk back the way we came."
"Good idea," Wendy said. We walked towards my house and we couldn't find anything. We kept coming back to the castle, almost if we were walking in circles.
"I have no idea where we are," I sighed. Growl, whoosh. "Since we don't know where we are, let's see if the castle has any way of helping us," I said.
"Okay, let's go," replied Wendy. We started walking towards the castle and heard the noise again. Growl, whoosh, growl. Alexia let out a little squeal. We were all nervous, but anxious at the same time.
"Who wants to go first?" I asked, but Alexia was already pushing me closer to the doors.
"I guess I'm going first," I said. We walked up to the doors and I pushed one open. It made a loud noise as we walked in. Creeeeeeeeeak. We continued walking into the magical castle and stopped.
"Wendy, please tell me that was you," I asked nervously.
"Nope," she laughed, "It's hilarious when you guys get scared," she added.
"Let's just keep walking and find out what the noise is, then we can go home," Alexia said, "okay Jaylin?"
"Okay, let's go. Where do you think we should go first?" I asked.
"Let's explore this floor and then find out if this place has a basement," Wendy said. Wendy loves scary adventures so she is probably hoping that we run into a werewolf or something.
"Wait, everyone be quiet for a second," I whispered.
    "Why?" asked Alexia.
"Shhhhhh,"  I scolded. Growl, whoosh. The noise sounded like it was coming from upstairs.
"Come on," I said. We walked up the dusty stairs, and could tell no one has been here for a long time. We continued walking and came to a stop when we saw a long, narrow hallway, with five rooms along the sides.
