Beyond Betrayal of Trust

The Hatched One

          March 28, 2055, Laboratory Future, California. A young woman in her 20s is taking care of a large egg. This egg is not that of an oschage but that of the well known hybrid species known as Siahians.
       They are hybrids of humans and avian bird species known by many as only their nickname "Hypnosis Raptors". They aren't well liked by both species because of the trouble caused in the beginning of their excentence in the world. Many people of this day in age still believe that they don't belong here or anywhere.
      Many scientists see them as a perfect weapon, or as a perfect guinea pig. Right now Doctor Rena Lovett is doing some exams on the egg when it started to hatch. The young doctor picked up the phone to call her co-workers. As she did out hatched a baby Siahian girl. Doctor Lovett hung up the phone after done talking to her co-workers. She grabbed a towel and dryed the baby. She then weighed the child and checked the baby's heartrate. She looked at the baby once again and wrapped her up. While being careful of the wings.
     She took the time to look at her details. Her face soft her eyes began to open up to reveal chocolate colored eyes. Though she has a light greenish blue upper beak she still had a soft bottom lip. Eye markings are a dark purple she almost looks like a rock star. Skin is not that of a human despite her kind's genetic heredity to humans. It was pale grey like the "Hypnosis Raptors." The markings on her neck is what makes her stand out more than the others. It looks like a beautifully made black coller in farther distance but a closer look it is part of her skin. Her feathers are dark blue and light green. Her hair is a darker than the shadows.
      All of these details show that in the future she will a beauty of the skys. Dr. Lovett, looked at her with saddening eyes. She knows that they will traumatize the girl when she gets older. She didn't want to see that day or ever want to start imagining it. She cared for her and see her as her own child.
       Just then the door opens in came a well known Scientists on Earth and Space, Doctor Jasper Luminous. "Dr. Lovett, I have heard of Experiment H35 had hatched from the egg. Where is it?" He said while walking in the room with a crowd of scientists behind him. Dr. Lovett responded with a low voice of uncertainty "Yes sir, it hatched into a baby girl. Sir." He looks at the baby Siahian in her arm and smiled creepily. "Very good, now... get her and put her in the habitat." he said coldly. Dr. Lovett nodded her head reluctantly and walked away with the child in hand. "Oh and Dr. Lovett you are in charge of taking care of Experiment H35." Dr. Luminous said in joking manner. "Yes... sir" she said as she walked away.
   She carried the child into her new "room". She began talking to her in a soft voice "Don't worry that will not be your name will always be-"
    Four years later.
    I had been four year since she hatched and Dr. Lovett is seen as a mother to the child. Dr. Lovett has secretly been teaching and playing with the child. She found out that this hybrid species was in fact intelligent. She taught her how to "play fight" which is now her style of fighting. She has learned how to dance and sing a little. The other scientists have never seen this because of what they do to her.
    "Mommy, why do the bad people hurt me, and why do they call me "Screech Owl"? She asked her in confused voice. Dr. Lovett looked at her in a sorrowful look and said in soft tone "They believe you to be nothing more than a weapon or experiment in their eyes... but I believe you are a beautiful young girl who will grow into a beautiful archangel that will show the beauty of life to other people and other alien races. Hence why I named you after one. Why do they call you "Screech Owl" is because of your screech noise you create when threatened. I prefer you use that as a nickname when you don't trust them that much. Your true name, the name I have given you, is to be used or known to only those who you trust."
     Screech Owl looked at her with amazement in her eyes. "Do you understand now, child?" Dr. Lovett asked in a gentle tone. Screech Owl nodded her head to show that she understood every word. "Good, now go to bed. You need to rest your body in order to be stronger, for tomorrow. It will be stressful for you." Dr. Lovett said with a tired smile. "Yes, Mommy" Screech Owl yawned in response. She flew up to her bed which was in the trees.
    Unknown to her that tomorrow will be the last day things will ever be the same.
     Tomorrow morning Dr. Lovett came to Screech Owl's habitat. In her arms was a jet black cloak large enough to cover an adult women. "Child, are you awake?" she said in wisper yell. Just then Screech Owl flew landed right next to her. "Yes, Mommy." Screech Owl said excitedly. Dr. Lovett, quickly covered Screech Owl with the cloak and said in a hurried voice "Child, I will explain later. Right now, stay still and don't move okay or make a sound. Okay?" Screech Owl didn't questioned Dr. Lovett in fact she just did what she said. Dr. Lovett covered her completely from head to toes as well as her wings where covered. Dr. Lovett, carried her and walked out of the habitat. She tried to look as sad as she can possibly can. She looked at her fellow scientists and Doctors with gloom in her eyes. She was almost to the away from Screech Owl's enclosure when a voice called her "Dr. Lovett, what do you have in your arms?"
     She turn her head and saw Dr. Luminous standing there with anger in his light grey eyes. She kept her gloom look on her face and responded with an angered tone "This is Experiment H35. She is no longer with us, because of your experiments that you did on her." He just laughed at her and said in a creepily tone of voice "Don't think of me as fool the last time I checked. I looked at the cameras and knew what you are doing. I guess I should say this, but you are fired from this point on. GARDS, TAKE THIS WOMAN OUT OF THIS LAB, RIGHT NOW." With that he took Screech Owl from her arms as she was being taken away.
Screech Owl struggle but got out of the cloak. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy, what are they doing!" Screech Owl screamed to Dr. Lovett. "Child, I'm sorry for not showing you the true world!" Dr. Lovett said as they finally took her away from sight. Screech Owl tried to catchup to them but got tranquilizer darts on her. That took a quick affect on her and fell into deep slumber.
    From that day, she knew that she can not trust the scientists of this lab, not will she ever trust Dr. Luminous of all. For he will be the one who will get his torment when she is stronger.
    "You will learn to fear the screech of the Screech Owl. I will find away to bring you down. If it means by finding a group within this lab." Were the words Screech Owl said when she finally woke up. She looked with glare at that her room. To finally find the cameras. To which she broke to pieces.
    "When I do you too will feel the pain of having your world become nothing more of broken pieces." She said with the glare on the broken cameras.
