"PAPA!! Papa!! Please don't go!" The young girl begged. Hot, salted tears streamed down her face not making ignoring her sweat-matted hair any easier than before. She was being held back by two officers as her father got dragged way, his figure fading. She began to shake violently, fear and rage taking over her body.
"LET HIM GO!! TAKE ME!! Take me instead!" Her voice cracked at the suggestion of giving herself up, her tears increasing. Her breathing became more ragged as a snarl skipped across her lips.

"Raine, no. Papa did some bad things, now he has to pay for it..." Her father explained to her as calmly as possible. However, the girl of age 10 wasn't going to have it. She yanked her arms every-which-way and hollered. She feircly relieved her arms from the officers' grasps and bolted to her father. "TAKE ME!!" with that she could hear the officers sigh and give up on telling her no. Her father cried out as she was thrown in shsckles and tossed into the back of a carriage. She heard a gunshot and a man's scream.

"PAPA!" LoeRaine gasped and launched up out of bed. Cold sweat beaded down her forehead and tears began to well in her eyes. "Papa..." she whispered out. Her phone started vibrating and the standard iPhone tone went off.

"Hey Kuh-knuckle, whats going on?" She said to the caller.

"Ready to go to the beach? I'll be there with the squad in a few." Her friend, Bryson, hummed before a small beep signified that the call had ended.

"Oh right..." Raine sighed. She forgot about going to the beach, so she had forgotten to prepare to go out with her friends for the day.

After wiping the cold sweat off of her forehead she searched through her large apartment for a towel, her swimsuit, sunglasses, and a snack to put in a small bag if she got hungry.

The alarm clock on her night stand blinked "11:45am". She heard a honk and she took that as her signal to go. Gathering all of her things, she headed down stairs. She grabbed her keys and left through the door and locked it behind her.

Darting down complex's hall, she greeted Bryson, Allie, and Chrystal.

"Hey Rainey Day, ready for some low tide chillaxin?" Allie inquiried. The thin girl nodded and climbed into the passenger side of Bryson's car. She hummed amd stared out the window as the trees and buildings passed by.

A few hours later, they arrived at the beach. No one else was there, which was perfect. The friends were loud and obnoxious while splashing along the shore.

"Ey, look over thah'! Dere's a big ol' cliff we can jump off uh!" Chrystal said in her thick New York accent. It was suprising she even knew what cliffs were.

The Quad-squad went to the top of the cliff and looked at the water below as it banged and crashed against the rough rock. Bryson hooped as he canon-balled into the sea water, reserfacing.

"Look guys. No worries. Like Allie said earlier, low tide," Bryson pointed out. After hearing this off jumped Chrystal, then Allie. The only one left was Raine. She stared down at the midnight shaded water, the colour making it seem deeper down than it actually was.

"MAMA!! PAPA, MAMA IS FALLING!!" The young female pointed out to her father. By the time the girl's words reached the older man's ears, it was too late. A loud splash that resembled a crash was heard from behind. A deafening scream had cracked the thick air shortly after. Her mother had reserfaced for a split second before getting dragged under by some sea creature. Her father screamed out

"HELEN!!" The man hollered in the direction of the drowning woman. He ran to the water, looking for any signs of the woman. After seeing nothing, not even a scrap of the woman's long, ginger hair, he threw himself to his knees and sobbed.

The girl, knowing that pain-filled cry like the back of her hand, gasped. "Mama... "

"Mama... " Raine trailed off before slipping off the cliff and screaming. Before anyone could reach her, the water crashed around her, swallowing her whole. The darkly painted ocean swarmed around her as if it was a flock of buzzards around a carcass. She heard muffled splashing and yelling, which caused her to try and reach for the air. She barely surfaced before being pulled under by the, suddenly, strong waves. She took a deep inhale of the salt water. It burned her lungs like cigarette smoke, filling every nook and cranny of her air sacks. She felt herself being lifted before everything turned dull and black.....
