My alarm clocked buzzed it's awake call. It sounded like a dying crow. I groaned. My head was under the covers and I usually do not sleep with my pillows. So, they are usually knocked down off of my bed in the middle of the night.

I bang the 'snooze' button on my clock and it finally stopped screaming like a banshee. I slumped my head back onto the bed and all of a sudden I hear a shout and a soft but hard impact on my back. Caleb. My brother, same age., but he acts very childish at points. I groaned again.

"Wake up, Beatrice!" he shouts. I let out a deep sigh and grabbed the covers so he wouldn't try and pull the covers off of my bed. I tried to go back to sleep. My brother hit me again with one of my pillows. I shot straight up.

"God dammit, Caleb, leave me alone!" I screamed. He stood there motionless, not blinking or anything. "What do you want?" I asked him. He fixed his messed up plade buttoned up shirt.

"It's Monday. First day of school. End of summer." he says. Shit. I look over to my clock. 6:36. Great. Only ten minutes to get to the bus. I jolted out of my bed and pushed Caled out. I slammed the door in his face. "Hey!" he shouted. I locked the door.

I scanned my dresser and found gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt. It'll have to do. I changed as fast as I could. I looked over to the clock. 6:37. Fuck! I went into my bathroom and put my long blond hair into a messy pony tale, but I did not care. I bushed my teeth and then went downstairs. I grabbed a blueberry muffin.

"Uh-" said a voice. I turn around to see who it was as I started to cram the muffin down my throat. Mother. I smiled and chewed the muffin. She smiles. "Good mourning." she says. I nodded. She raises a brow. She goes to the sink to do some dishes. She's still in her robe. At least I am not the only one running late. "Whatcha doing up so early?" she asked me. I pause from taking another bite.

"Huh?" I asked her. She laughed and dried of a flower plate I had painted when I was only five.

"It's only five in the mourning dear." she says. I feel like I want to drop my muffing and tell her to tell me more. I stood there, motionless. Just as Caleb did this mourning. My dad comes back in with the newspaper. They never come this early, well if it really is five.

All of a sudden I hear Caleb laughing. I groaned. He's behind me, literally belly laughing. He pointed at me and tried to open his mouth to say something. But he stopped, and just kept laughing. I felt steam come up from my two ears. My mom scolded Caleb and finally he shut up.

Caleb changed my time on my clock. Classic prank of his. My mom sighed and went to the refrigerator. I saw her pull out, eggs, bacon, sausage. Then she went to the pantry and grabbed bread to make toast.

"I guess since everone is up. I will make a proper breakfest." she says. I hear my father laugh lightly. He went over to my mom and folded his arms around her waist. He kissed her on the cheek. I see Caleb out of the corner of my eyes, pointing his finger into his mouth. Signing the gag messages. I rolled my eyes and slapped him on the head with my hand lightly.

"Grow up, dweep." I say. He stuck his toung out at me. See, little kid behavior! My dad cleared his throat and came over to my table. He places his two palms flat down on the kitchen's table.

"Look, my two seniors. You guys have grown up to fast!" he says. I smiled and nodded as mom puts scrambled eggs on the table. I swear, she cooks like a ninga. She serves her food so fast!

"I'm hoping to get some hot babes this year!" Caleb exclaims as he takes a bite of egg. I smirk and pointed my fork at him.

"Your not going to get any hot babes if you have egg stuck on your nose." he frowns and wipes the yellow peice of egg off of his nose. I laughed and my father sits down. He opens the news paper and starts to read. My mother then puts the toast and sausage on the table. Caleb dug in and I frow.

"Wow." says  my father. We all look at him. "Your school is on the verge of closing. Less students are going every year." I looked at him.

"Good. I say, I hate new schools. Being the new student is so awkward. You walk into class, knowing no one. Everyone stares at you. By the end of first period everyone knows your name. It could be good not to be in a crowd for once." I say. Caleb looks at me.

"As long as the babes are there." he says. I roll my eyes and my mom plops the bacon on the table. While we ate, my dad kept reading articles from the paper. Honestly, I really did not care. I looked at the kitchen's clock. I sighed. It's only 5:04.

Until, 7:40 I watched TV. Lame shows like, 'The Middle' Such an old show. I am surprised it's still on air. Anyway, Caleb screamed at me that the bus was here. I was debating to believe him or not. But, I got up anyway and slung my back-pack over my shoulders and put on my purple and black 'air jordan' shoes.

"Come on, Beatice! The bus is here and it is going to leave with out you!" my brother screamed and it echoes throught out the sky. I rolled by eyes as the bus pulled up at the nearest bus stop. I see Caleb waving his hand in the air like an idiot, gestering me to hurry my ass up.

I started in a fast jog towards the bus. Finally I reached Caleb and the bus. We both board the bus and the bus driver had diry blond hair and has hazel eyes. Her features were really pretty. She had no pimples, no zits, nothing to be ashamed of. She cold be a man magnet if she was in highschool. I'm sure a bunch of boys would drool over here.

"Beatrice Prior and Caleb Prior." I say. She raises and eye brow and looks at her list. "Were're new." smiles.

"Ah- ok. Do you want to sit together? If not, Tris you can sit by Christina. She's right behind me. And Caleb you can sit next to Uriah. All the wall in the back." she says. I looked at the girl that was suppose to be Christina. She was looking out of the window and her hand up placed right under her chin.

"I'll sit with Christina." I say. I think Christina heard me. Her head perked up. The bus driver nodded and I walked up to Christina.

"Mind if I join you?" I asked in a hush tone.

"No problem!" she exclaimed. She moved her back pack and I sat down. I watched Caleb walk all the way the aisle. I laughed. "Your new arn't you?" she asked me.

"Yeah..." I say nervously. "Do you mind showing me around the school. Tell me some tips?" I asked her. Her eyes boggled.

"Of coarse. I'm Christina. You are?" she asked me.

"Beatrice Prior, but please. Call me Tris." I say. She nods. She hold out her hand. Is she wanting me to shake hands with her. I guess. Our hands connected and we shook hands.

"Well, Tris. Welcome to Divergent High!"
