I decided to sacrifice my career to protect my only sibling in battle. My sister, Hange, convinced me to transfer from wall Sina to wall Rose, from The Military Police to The Survey corps.
I know that I'm putting my life at risk, that I could die at any time, from the moment I enroll in The Corps, to the one I leave. I've heard that thousands of times, from many different people, but I'm sure that my sister deserves every minute of my life and would do the same sacrifices for me, if I needed it. I've heard that she takes part in research, being the head of that division and that she works in a very good team, corporal Levi, that strongest man on Earth, fighting right beside her. Impressive, of course, but I don't know what to say about that. I haven't seen him in action; I haven't seen their dynamic and I haven't seen how well trained they are in battle.
I can't wait to see them. Meeting new people has always been interesting...to an extent: having to be the 'new best thing' in the team, for every body not to believe it fully. Plus, some of the bad thingd here are that I'll have to go through the recruitment process again, I guess, and that I'll get to see my sister. I feel bad, what can I say.. For not reaching out to her in a long time, despite her sending me letters every week, for being violent to her one too many times, for not telling her that I love her with all my heart and for keeping so many secretes locked up in my mind, not letting her get at least a glimpse of the person that I am. She is always smiling; she is always nice; she is always telling me how she's feeling and she's not keeping too many things hidden. I've always been the exact opposite from her, maybe because I always knew what I am, because I knew that I'll never be like her, or like anyone else, for that matter. She described that 'Levi' guy as being 'me, but male'. Is he, though? Does she know what I'm hiding? Does she know what he's hiding? Is he, really, like me?
I embarked a feribot, to take me along the river, directly to wall's Rose entrance. In spite of the fact that I gave a lot of money for this trip, it is going so slow, that I'm gonna get out of it five years older. I'm not a patient person and I'm not going to wait for useless things to finish, if I can do something about it. My manuver gear will help me get through the town faster.
I shoot my hooks at the buildings, seeing unsettled people watching me. I don't have any uniform on, so that might be a reason, besides the fact that I'm flying between their houses. Here comes the wall... It's gonna be hard to climb it... I shoot my prototype wall climbing hooks at the wall, hoping it would cling well. One fails, but the other does cling only a little. I try again, this time, succeeding with both, then activating a mechanism that ends up throwing me just enough to make it on the wall. Oh,I love being an engineer.... With the standard hooks, you wouldn't be able to climb the wall so fast, if not at all.
I guess I'll have to wait for them here. Hang told me that she'll meet me on the sixth segment. Is this it, though?
