Preface - "Konnichiha"

Welcome!
While I adore Fire Emblem: Awakening, there are many characters to explore and many things that are only touched on in-game, and it is the job of fanfiction to explore characters, facts, and events that are merely glazed over. Quite a few things that bothered me will be touched upon, and I am not known for my happy and upbeat stories. This story will be dark and very bloody, and deal with themes that may be too dark for younger audiences. However, this story is not flagged as mature because I do not consider blood, revenge, murder, possession, etc. something that should be hidden from younger audiences. This story is clear of foul language and, while there are a few sexual references, nothing is explicitly stated or shown. So yes, this story is safe for work.
If you will notice, the title of this preface is "Konnichiha." This is the Japanese word for "Good afternoon." Each of my titles will be a short word or phrase in Japanese, written in romanji (Roman characters, also known as the Latinian alphabet). Translating these will not be necessary for your enjoyment of the story, and each of them may, due to the nature of the Japanese language, translate to something I do not mean it to. (For those curious, many different kanji can have the same sound, and radically different meanings.) I will provide a list of title chapters in both Japanese characters and romanji, along with their translations in the back of the fanfiction. Be warned; these translations may include spoilers for that chapter, and the later chapter names will also be spoilers or references to things that happen within either those chapters or other ones. Translate or read the provided translations at your own risk.
On the topic of spoilers, as this is a fanfiction covering the plot of Fire Emblem: Awakening, I would advise you play the game before reading if you care about spoilers. I will be covering a few different miscellaneous pieces here and there, along with the SpotPass Paralogues and all in-story paralogues. A good rule of thumb for spoilers: If you do not know who Gerome is, or you have not beaten Grima (in the event that you decided not to get the children characters), this fanfiction will completely spoil the game for you, albeit my version of events is quite a bit different than Intelligent Systems' version.
Once more, I will mention that while I am a very happy, upbeat person, my stories are not known for being so. So if you want stories about couples getting married and living a wonderful life together, having children, spending time with their friends, and enjoying life to the fullest, I would suggest you find another fanfiction. However, if you enjoy stories where plot armor is paper-thin, where death can occur at any time, where physical and mental agony are toyed with, where political and tactical maneuvering become paramount, and where paranoia can strike deep into the hearts of men and women alike to sow distrust and hatred, then turn the page.
