"Mom, stop adjusting my uniform." I complain as she continues to straighten out my sweater.

"Sorry, sweetie. I just want to make sure you look your best on your first day." She smiles and I let out a sigh.

"It's alright." I run a hand through my hair. "Well, I'm off. Thanks for breakfast." I wave to my mother and head out the door with my backpack slung over one shoulder. It's my first day at Aoba Johsai, and I'm a second year. If I'm lucky, everything goes smoothly and no one notices me.

Maybe I'll make a friend or two, but I'm not exactly a social butterfly. I prefer to lay low. I hear voices from the street coming up and I lift my head to see the source of the noise.

"Iwa-chan!!! You're so mean!" Says a high-pitched voice from around the corner. I peek out around the corner and see the most beautiful man ever.

Brown, styled hair and eyes of the same color. Somehow he makes the normal uniform looks way hotter than it should. Next to the pretty boy is a slightly shorter, but much more scary-looking boy. He has short, black hair and bright green eyes.

I walk behind them, silently admiring the pretty boy. Worried that it seems like I'm eavesdropping, I pull out my phone and earbuds and play some music, letting myself fall behind them a little. They don't appear to notice me the whole way to school.

Have I always lived near a boy this beautiful? Maybe I knew him when I was younger but puberty hit him like a truck so I don't recognize him. Hah, probably not though. Even when I was a little kid I was introverted.

We arrive at school and I walk towards the front office while Pretty Boy and his friend head off in another direction.

"Hello, are you (l/n) (y/n)?" The lady at the desk asks.

"Yes, ma'am." I reply respectfully.

"Here is your schedule and a map of the school. If you need anything please come here and ask me."

"Thank you." I bow and walk out of the front office. For a moment I pause and look over my schedule. So I have math first, in room 201, building 2. I glance at the map and find my destination and start on the quickest route there. I hear voices from the end of the hall and my ears perk up.

"Iwa-chan, when's the match against Karasuno?" A familiar voice asks.

"Next week, and if you overwork yourself I'll punch you." Growls back another voice.

From around the corner, the source of the voices appear. Pretty Boy and his scary friend. Pretty boy has kind of an annoying voice. Behind me I hear a shriek, and then another.

"Oikawa-senpai!" I turn around at the voice and barely manage to avoid the hoard of girls rushing towards Pretty Boy.

I should've expected this, someone as gorgeous as that has to have fans that are constantly confessing their love for him. Pretty Boy wouldn't notice a girl like me. Agh, what does it matter? I'm going to be late for class. I look at the hoard of girls crowding the hallway and let out a sigh.

"Oikawa, get your fangirls to go to class." Pretty Boy's scary friend says and slaps him on the back of the head.

"Ow, Iwa-chan! Fine. Excuse me ladies, but you shouldn't be late to class. We can catch up at lunch." Pretty Boy smiles, and I cringe. How fake his personality is makes me want to puke.

"Sorry about that." Pretty Boy's scary friend says to me, and I'm frozen for a second, but I quickly come to my senses.

"Oh it's alright, thanks though." Looks like the friend isn't actually scary.

"Iwaizumi Hajime, and you are?"

"(L/n) (y/n), nice to meet you." I say politely. Iwaizumi elbows pretty boy.

"I'm Oikawa Tooru, nice meeting you too, (l/n)-chan." He gives one of his fake smiles and I find myself rolling my eyes.

"Save that fake-ass persona for someone who is actually fooled by it." I walk past them on the route I was originally taking.

What was that back there??? I was totally in love with Pretty B-I mean Oikawa. He's hot, I won't deny that. But his personality is so ugly it overrides his good looks. His fangirls must be super shallow to see something in a guy like him.

"His friend is okay though." I think aloud. Iwaizumi seemed scary at first, but turned out to be nice. I'm still a little shocked he noticed that I was bothered by the hoard of girls. Well he must feel responsibility for his friend. He's like a mom. I find myself giggling as I reach my classroom. Iwaizumi is totally a mom friend.

Hm, I wonder what match they were talking about. Maybe they play basketball? I have heard this school is famous for volleyball though, so maybe that's it? If I run into them again I should ask.

I take my seat in my math class and zone out as the teacher explains how the class is going to work. Take good notes, do your homework right, study for tests, blah blah blah. It's the usual stuff. Besides, I don't stand out enough to be noticed by the teacher.

Hm, I should try out for the girls volleyball team. I was a libero in junior high, though I haven't played in a while. Hopefully the girls are nice.

Maybe I'll make some friends on the team who can show me around the school's social system, which seems to be the only thing that really differs from school to school. One of the girls might be able to tell me about Oikawa, too. It's decided. I'll head to the gym after school, good thing I brought my gym clothes.
