I dedicate this poem:
To every soul lost in the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. May you rest in a peace not found on this earth.
To all of the brave men and women that risked and sacrificed their lives running in while, others were running and jumping out. Without you this tragedy would have been even more tragic.
To all of the service members who have stood and fought, the service members who stand and fight, and the service members of the future who will stand and fight... This country would likely be in ruins without you.
To all of the family members who have lost loved ones during the attacks or in their continual aftermath. My heart and thoughts go out to all of you. Your loss(es) are tragic and do not go forgotten.
To all of the family members of service members, your sacrifices often go unmentioned, but they surely do not go unappreciated by all.
And lastly, to every American, for these were attacks on ALL of us. We have ALL been affected by the senseless acts of terrorism that occurred that Tuesday morning. We must ALL continue to stand united.
The Day I Saw My Lady Cry
Written 9/11/2008
By: Tabatha Gray
Age: 15She stood there with her torch held high
To watch planes falling from the sky
As silver bullets ripped apart
The center of her loving heart
With disregard for sanity
In senseless act of lunacy
She saw her children fall and die
The day I saw my lady cry.
I LIFT MY LAMP ... so reads her plaque
Just miles from terrorist attack
Her open doors now violated
By pure evil orchestrated
Hounds of Hell have been released
And God must rise to kill the Beast.
I saw her head drop, shaking "Why?"
The day I saw my lady cry.
Her tears will bring on bitter rain
Unleashing winds of hurricane
To circle globe in whirlwind force
Uncovering evil at its source
Then seek exacting recompense
From those who prey on innocents.
They'll not forget, as time goes by,
The day they made my lady cry.
