The birds sung as I fluttered my eyes open, the sun peaked through my canvas blind and black and white striped curtains.

Valentine's day. To me it was just like any other boring school day, except today there would be things I wouldn't usually see on a regular school day. There would be other girls wandering around the school, gossiping about how their boyfriend or super hot crush gave them a red rose and asked them to be their Valentine.

That was something I dreaded to see, I would act hopeful and pretend that none of it bothered me, but truly it did. I envied all of the other girls.

"Get up Luna!" Mum yelled from the other side of my closed door.

"Mmm." I sigh kicking off my blankets and reaching for my phone on the white drawer beside my bed. No new texts, at least I was at peace for now.

Sooner or later I would receive all these different texts, emails, tweets and snap chats about how wonderful this Valentines day it was. That was something I didn't want to look at. I wasn't really in the mood, I was exhausted and didn't feel that confident in going to school. But I knew I had no choice in it, I was practically forced to leave this house that I felt comfortable in. Give me half the chance; I would lay around the house in a pair of jeans and a hood either writing, watching movies out listening to Guns N' Roses. At the moment that was an idea I wish my parents would consider.

Placing my phone back onto the drawer, I connected it to its power cord and walked over to my bedroom door, opening it up and standing in my door way like I was sleep walking.

"Hurry up. Get dressed." Mum stared at me from the kitchen, down the end of the hallway.

"I'm going." I groan continuing on my mission to search for my school clothes.

"After school clothes? They're in the basket in the lounge room." Mum said walking down the hallway towards me, then taking a turn and walking into her room. I slowly made my way down the hallway, taking my time.

Finally reaching the basket, I grabbed my school clothes that messily sat in between my brother's school clothes.

"What?" Don cheekily smirked in his Primary School uniform.

I groaned in response and brushed pass him and back down the hall. On the way down, I almost ran into my other brother Ned.

Not taking any notice, I just continue to my room shutting the door behind me and turning on the light.

I immediately threw my school clothes onto my unmade bed and went straight to my bookshelf where my stereo sat. I need music, it woke me up in the morning and seemed to brighten up my mood.

As soon as my Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits CD was in my stereo and ready to play. I cranked up the volume and pressed play.

'Welcome to the jungle' was the very first to play. Just hearing the start, brightened up my mood. I did a small skip over to my bed and stripped from my pajamas and replaced them with school clothes. A blue senior shirt and black school pants. The normal school uniform for a student in grade eleven.

The mesmerizing sound of a Gibson Les Paul shrieked through the speakers of the stereo. The starting of 'Sweet Child O'Mine' had already started. My face brightened up to the sound causing me to grin. As much as I wanted to stay in my room just to listen to the entire song, I couldn't, I had to go find my runners.

For the rest of the rest of the morning, Sweet Child O'Mine rung through my head. Mum was already waiting in the car and I was already running late. Of course that was according to her watch.
