The years leading up to my first year of hogwarts had been pretty much spending time at the Weasley's. They were my second family, my home away from home.
When my parents were out on Auror missions I would stay with the Weasley's. Honestly, I was there more than I was at my own house.
I would play Quidditch, play jokes on Fred and George, and play makeover with Ginny. I was pretty much her older sister.
When I got my letter, I was at the Weasley's. I remember that day perfectly. I was eleven, and my parents were out on business.
I remember being super upset that they weren't there to see me open it, but the Weasley's love made up for my two absent parents, for the most part.
They managed to make it home to see me off, but they couldn't come home for Christmas. I was upset, but the Weasley's were perfect. They welcomed me with open arms.
Once first year had ended, I came back home. I was in my own bed for a week before I had to pack my bags to go to the Weasley's.
I'd spend a week at home, and then two to three weeks at the Weasley's all summer. The inconsistency was a killer, but I loved every day I spent with my parents.
Once second year started, my parents owled me once a week. Sometimes twice. Three times if I get into trouble (it was mainly the twins fault, I'm guilty by association).
I actually spent Christmas break with my parents, well most of it. They had to leave halfway through break, but it was better than nothing.
The summer before my third year came around and we were back to the schedule of inconsistency. It got worse. At the end of the summer I spent a total two weeks with my parents. And they weren't able to send off to Hogwarts.
It's my fourth year at Hogwarts. I can't wait to go back. It's the only place I don't feel like a huge burden. If you ask the Weasley's they won't say I'm a burden, but I feel like it. I have two parents that work non stop and don't trust me to be home alone.
(We tried that once, I burnt down the kitchen. My house elf, Pinny, had to put out the fire.)
"Alex..." Fred whispered trying to wake me up without waking Ginny. I didn't budge. "Alexandra!" he whispered practically shoving me off the bed.
"Bloody hell, Fredrik Gideon! Are you mad?" I yelled in a whisper.
"We're going to save Harry from his muggle family, and we need you to come." Fred whispered, watching me stand up, pulling my dark long brunette hair into a ponytail.
"I might as well go, since you woke me up and I'll definitely not be able to sleep again, I'll be down in five minutes." I said as I pushed Fred out of the room.
I changed into muggle clothing, leggings and a sweater, before heading down stairs.
"You three are mad." I said as we loaded into the car, Fred beginning to fly the enchanted car. "Do you even know how to drive?"
"Please, it can't be much different from Quidditch." Fred said as he narrowly missed running into a tree, causing me to scream.
"Blimey, Alexandra, you almost took out my eardrum." Fred said, rolling his eyes at me.
"Ronald, get back here. George, scoot over, I'm coming up." Ron climbed back, muttering curse words under his breath. Then, I climbed up, "Now, Fred, I'm driving, climb over me."
I took the steering wheel, "This has to be unsafe." he said as he climbed over. I took the driver's seat, driving towards London.
"That's Harry's house." Ron pointed, I slowed down, rolling down the windows.
"Oi! What're you doing here?" Harry whispered through the bars on his windows.
He was like a prisoner, and he looked very under feed. I let out a breath, wanting to go curse the muggles he lived with.
"Rescuing you of course, pack your stuff." Ron said as we watched Harry run around his room, packing everything.
"Stand back, Harry." I said as George attacked a rope to the bars. Making sure Harry was away from the window, I floored the car, taking the bars off the window with a loud bang.
We opened the trunk, setting Harry's trunk in it before Harry handed Ron his owl, Hedwig. We heard yelling and his locks unlocking to his room, "He's getting away!" I heard someone say, as Harry stumbled into the car, the fat man grabbing his foot.
"You're never going back to that school! You're staying here!" he growled.
"ALEX, FLOOR IT!" I heard Harry yell as I pressed on the gas, watching the fat man fall out of the window with a laugh.
"He's the least of our worries now, Mrs. Weasley's going to be mad if she notices we're gone." I said, driving into the direction of the Burrow.
"That's why she's not going to notice, duh." Fred said as he sat beside me. "Really, Fred?? How're we going to explain Harry appearing out of thin air during the middle of the night?" I asked, with a little more sass in my voice than I intended.
"Damn, I didn't think of that." I laughed, looking in the rearview mirror, seeing the two boys chatting away.
All of a sudden the twins started chanting a muggle song we heard while walking in a 'strip mall', successfully scaring the crap out of me.
"Shh. We're nearly there." I said as the sun started rising. I lowered onto the ground, parking the car where it's normally parked.
We all quietly got out of the car, grabbing Harry's stuff, bringing them inside, "Good thing the gnomes are still sleeping, that would've been a chore."
We set Harry's stuff by the door, grabbing a biscuit from the table, quietly making our way towards the stairs. We heard a pair a feet running down the stairs, knowing we've been caught.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Molly Weasley stood in front of us with her arms crossed. "Beds empty, no note, car gone! You could've died, you could've been seen! Of course Harry, I don't blame you."
"There were bars on his window mum, they were starving him!" Ron said, explaining.
"You best hope I don't put bars on your window Ronald Weasley!" Mrs. Weasley shaked her finger at him. "Now, Harry, how about some breakfast?"
