"I'm gonna miss momma and daddy." My little sister, Lily, the youngest of all of us, whimpers.
I pick her up and say, "Oh, sweetheart. Momma and daddy aren't going to be gone for too long. They'll be home before you know it." I look at my two brothers and see that they aren't as convinced as our sister.
"Okay, sissy." My sister sniffles.

Two short months later and I'm running like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to finish up at work so I can pick up my siblings and get home before the child services worker gets there. Thankfully we make it home minutes before the child services worker arrives.
"Hello, ma'am. I'm here to check on the children." The worker says when I open the door.
"The children are just finishing putting up their things from their day at school and day care, so they should be down in a minute." I say, leading the worker to the living room. "You can sit here and wait for them while I go get them, if you'd like."
"Thank you." The worker says, sitting on the couch. I quickly run upstairs and get my siblings.
We walk into the room and the worker starts asking all of us questions.

We've gotten through over half of our check-in's and so far they've all gone great. But I'm really worried about this months check-in. I got laid off my job last week and we're running low on money after paying the rent and utilities. My worries come up because I'm at the grocery store and I barely have enough money to buy two loafs of bread, a jar of peanut butter and a jar of grape jelly.
My thoughts are interrupted by me running into someone one. "Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying any attention." I apologize, slowly looking up at the person. I see the person and realize that the person is an absolutely gorgeous guy, the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen. He's got blonde hair, that looks to be dyed, light blue eyes, at least a good foot taller than me and is pretty built.
"It's alright, love. It was me who wasn't paying attention." He says with a thick Irish accent, smiling at me.
That was the start of something great.
~~~~~
A few days after meeting him I had found out that he's an international pop star. I think my siblings reaction was far more interesting then mine, though.
I lead the guy that I met in the grocery store, Niall, into my home. Before I could even say anything my siblings run into the hallway and jump on me. Niall just laughs. "Alright guys, we've got company." I laugh as the younger two hop off of me and hug Niall.
"Hi, mister." My youngest brother, Jackson, says to Niall.
"You know, sissy hasn't brought a boy home since mommy and daddy started being mad." Lily informs Niall.
"Sweetie, you don't just go telling people that." I laugh, a little embarrassed.
"You didn't tell me you have siblings." Niall comments.
"Well, I was going to before the little rascals interrupted me." I say, tickling my brothers and sister.
"So, where are your parents?" Niall asks me.
"Sissy says that's a secret. And we aren't supposed to tell secrets." Lily says in a hushed tone.
"Hm. Well, how about I'll tell you one of my secrets if you tell me that secret." Niall suggests to the little girl. She looks at me and I nod, allowing her to tell him.
