Prologue

Mecca's pov

Once, when the moon goddess roamed the earth, she fell in love with a rather shabby human. She never thought that this human was not human but was the main star that other stars evovled from.

The moon and the stars aligned and formed constellation. These constellation were special to the Greeks. They called them zodiac signs. But we were wolves called those stars the zodiac wolf myth.

According to the history of our pack, the moon goddess created the zodiac wolves. They were twelve in number. Aries, Virgo, Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn and the other 8 which I still couldn't place in my head.

Like I said it was a myth. No one ever saw these peculiar wolves who had both the powers of turning wolf, the power to control the elements and several peculiar traits to each zodiac wolf. My favourite zodiac wolf was the Pisces. I liked how queer they were.

I was lost in thought and jumped as soon as the doctor touched my hand.

"Are you okay Mec?" Dr James asked.

"I'm okay sir... i was just thinking bout this book" i said showing him the diary i had in my hand which belonged to my mother.

My mum was luna of the Pine trees pack. She was my dad's mate. Obviously. She was a warrior princess, never willing to sit and take care of pups but wanted to be on the battle field ripping the intruders apart. She was fearless and kind. She made fighting in the pack everyone's including the female wolves but then she died in a battle, and it scared my dad. Now no female in the pack can do more than cooking, cleaning, taking care of the pups and their mates.

Secretly, female wolves in the pack still trained but i wasnt one of them.

I was the goody two shoes who loved being the pack's chief nurse. Who loved taking care of the pups even when they weren't mine and most of all i was the daughter to the Alpha. The temporary Luna of the pack as assigned by my dad when my mum died.

"You look seriously unbalanced today mecca... i think you should take the day off... you over work yourself" the doctor said.

"No doc. I'm fine... just that the book brings back memories of my mum" i said.

I really loved her and looked up to her. She had a secret obsession with the zodiac wolf myth, it was weird, she kept a detailed record of the Aries zodiac wolf. She apparently found out it was a she wolf and what scared me was she knew the wolf, it was probably some one in our pack.  She died when I was 14 and she left me, my dad, my elder and younger brothers. Yeah I'm an only girl. Reagan and Clouse were two very peculiar brothers.
